1. The Chain Bridge
The Chain Bridge in Budapest is an iconic landmark and a must-see for any visitor to the city. The bridge is an important symbol of Hungary’s past and present. Completed in 1849, it was the first permanent bridge to be built across the Danube River, connecting the Buda side and the Pest side. Buda Castle, also known as the Royal Palace, is a historic castle complex located in the Castle Hill District of Budapest. It is situated on the Buda side of the river and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle has a long and storied history dating back to the 13th century, when it was first built as a royal palace for the kings of Hungary. 🏰

3. The Hungarian Parliament Building
The Hungarian Parliament Building is a stunning architectural masterpiece. Not only that, it is the largest parliament building in Europe and one of the oldest legislative buildings in the world! 😮
The Parliament Building is home to the National Assembly of Hungary, the country’s legislative body. Visitors can take a guided tour of the building and learn about its history and architecture, or simply admire the building from the outside.
The building was completed in 1904 and is a prime example of Gothic Revival architecture. Adorned with beautiful ornamentation, including intricate carvings, statues, and stained glass windows, it is one of the best photo spots in the city. 4. Gellért Hill
Gellért Hill is a top destination in Budapest. Once you visit, you’ll quickly understand why! Located on the Buda side of the city, the hill offers stunning panoramic views of both the Danube River and downtown Budapest.
Gellért Hill is home to several important landmarks, including the Citadella, a 19th-century fortress that sits atop the hill, as well as the Liberty Statue, a monument that was erected to honour the Soviet liberation of Hungary during World War II.
The hill is also home to natural thermal Gellért Baths, which is a wonderful spot to relax and unwind — a must-visit experience for any Budapest visitor! 🧖♀️

5. Matthias Church
The Matthias Church, also known as the Church of Our Lady, is a beautiful Gothic cathedral located in the Castle District. It is named after King Matthias, who was the first king of Hungary to be crowned in the church. 👑 The church was originally built in the 13th century but has undergone several renovations and additions over the centuries.
Today, it is a prime example of Gothic architecture, with its ornate carvings, stained glass windows, and elaborate frescoes. With its towering turrets and intricate tile details, the church appears to be straight out of a fairy tale. 7. St. Stephen’s Basilica

Liberty Bridge is a great place to go for breathtaking views of Budapest. Located in the heart of the city, it spans the Danube River and offers stunning views of both the Buda and Pest sides of the city. From the bridge, you can see some of Budapest’s most iconic landmarks, including the Hungarian Parliament Building and the Buda Castle.
