When it came time to decide on where to honeymoon, it was a no-brainer for Alicia, Vancouver-based fashion and lifestyle blogger of Alicia Fashionista – it had to be Italy! Taking a 3-week tour through the country, she and her new husband, Adam, stopped in Positano, where they decided to capture their honeymoon memories with Flytographer Roberta behind the lens.

Their Story

Alicia: “Our wedding was August 15th, 2015 in Pemberton, British Columbia. We left a month later for a three-week honeymoon in Italy. Our itinerary included Rome, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, and Positano. I’m the kind of person who never had a lifelong vision for a ‘dream wedding,’ but I certainly knew I’d always wanted to honeymoon in Italy! We toured around the country via train. It would be way too tough to pick a favourite location, because they were all so different and amazing in their own way!

“We decided to book a Flytographer shoot in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. It was our last destination and we were spending almost a whole week there, so we knew it’d provide the perfectly stunning (but relaxed) setting.

“It’s nearly impossible to narrow down our favourite memory, as the entire trip was truly spectacular. I think my personal favourite was our ‘bonus’ last night in Rome en route back home. We discovered a really cute little neighbourhood called Monti; we enjoyed a glass of wine there by the fountain, surrounded by locals. It was incredibly romantic and something I’ll always cherish.

“My biggest recommendation is to stay in Cinque Terre. A lot of people go to the towns for a day trip, but that is absolutely not the way to see and experience it! We found the cutest Airbnb in Vernazza, and our Italy adventure would not have been the same without it.

“My other advice for travellers in Italy is to utilize the train system. Don’t expect a ton of direct advice from anyone, just embody their easygoing attitude – it’s all part of the adventure. Learning at least a couple of Italian phrases will easily carry you through your trip. And drink lots and lots of wine!”
