Nestled along the winding Italian coastline lies a stretch of colorful seaside towns. From quaint fishing villages to luxury cliffside resorts, there’s no shortage of magic to be found in this idyllic honeymoon destination. Imagine walking along sandy beaches and crystal waters or strolling down winding alleyways with fresh gelato in hand. Finish the day with a sunset boat ride and glass of prosecco as you bob in the water and the lights of the town begin to sparkle in the water. If this sounds like the honeymoon getaway of your dreams, the only thing left to do is book a ticket!

While there’s no wrong way to go when you’re in Italy, a convenient town to start your adventure in is Sorrento. As the beginning of this UNESCO heritage region, it’s the perfect spot for a day trip to Naples for some true Italian pizza or historic Pompeii for its tumultuous past as Mount Vesuvius looms overhead. Be sure to have a sip or three of limoncello, a popular liqueur produced in the region. After all, cheers to your honeymoon!

The largest town on the coastline holds the region’s name, Amalfi. From sand and pebble beaches to picturesque medieval buildings, there’s something to pique every interest. Nestled in the middle of the coastline, it’s perfectly suited for a day trip to the stunning island of Capri.

For a low-key escape from the hustle and bustle of the more popular towns, explore the laid-back Conca dei Marini. This small village has its priorities straight, with a festival held every August specifically to celebrate a dessert called the Santa Rosa sfogliatella. This mix between a cake and pastry was created by the monks living in the town’s monastery in the 17th century, and a visit to the town wouldn’t be complete without tasting one! Don’t forget to take a boat ride through the Grotto dello Smeraldo, or the “Emerald Cave,” that appears to glow an eerie green from below.

Ravello is the town to visit if you’re looking for the glamour of the Amalfi Coast without the crowds.  It’s a hidden gem with fewer tourists because there’s no ocean access. But what it lacks in beaches, it makes up for with stunning panoramic views & breathtaking cliffside gardens that will make you want to sit and take in the scenery a while longer with a glass of wine in hand.

The most famous of the towns is Positano, and with cascading pastel houses leading down to the sparkling blue ocean water, it’s obvious why it’s been featured on nearly every travel Instagram out there. This town isn’t for the faint of heart, though. Its vertical views mean steps for days, but we think there are worse ways to earn your second helping of fresh pasta! You’ll find glamorous seaside bars and a bustling nightlife perfect for pulling out your chic travel outfits after a day in the sun.

There are truly few places more romantic and picturesque than the Amalfi Coast to celebrate your honeymoon, and the amazing food and drink is just icing on the (wedding) cake.
