Sharing a love of travel and adventure is one of the greatest ways to bond as a family, and we were so inspired seeing multi-generations venture abroad together in 2017. From baby’s first trip, to seeing the world together as adults, we’ve rounded up our favourite travel photos to inspire your next family vacation!

“My husband and I both feel that travel is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child so we plan a large trip with our girls every spring. We truly want them to be global citizens.
Before the trip, we reveal the destination to them in an extravagant way. We then spend the upcoming months teaching lessons about the local cultures, languages, and food. By the time we leave, they know so much about where we are going — and so does everyone around them! They share all the knowledge they have with anyone that will listen and their love for travel is contagious! This year was Paris and London; next year is a tour through Italy!”

“My husband was away on mission and will be missing my son’s 3rd birthday. So we decided we’d fly in and meet in Italy to celebrate our precious boy’s 3rd. My favourite memory is the perfect day we shot with flytographer.  We had a lovely breakfast with a view, met the photographers and walked around Positano by the water. My son loved the water, the sun was shining and I was with my family. We had a lovely lunch followed by a nap. The pictures turned out amazing and really captured our serenity.”

“Our vacation was to celebrate the completion of our medical training, our 5 year wedding anniversary and my father in law’s 70th birthday. It also was a celebration of my husband’s (and our daughter’s) heritage. His parents both immigrated to the US from Japan many years ago. Our favourite memory from the trip was visiting the temples and historic areas in Kyoto on our photo shoot with Lucas. We are so pleased to have such a wonderful memento from this trip and look forward to being able to relive these memories for years to come.” – Kara⠀

“The inspiration for our vacation is connection. I am a single mother by choice to a wonderful 8-year old boy. In the hectic day-to-day shuffle of life, carving out time with my son when I’m not also multi-tasking on the laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc is a challenge. Our annual Mother’s Day/Son’s Birthday vacation is a time for us to get away and have fun!”

“This year we will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The traditional gift on the 20th anniversary list is china. I think they meant dishes, but we decided it meant China. So spring break as a family with 3 teen boys meant heading to Hong Kong for the week. We had a great time visiting cultural sites like temples and the Big Buddha. We had lots of interesting discussions about buddhism, taoism and the like. But we sprinkled in a day at Hong Kong Disneyland and even bungy jumped off the Macau Tower another day. Even mom joined in the fun and did the highest bungy jump in the world at 233m high!”
