Two of our beloved Bali photographers, Bayu and Ivony, recently tied the knot! They celebrated their honeymoon with a trip to Europe and, naturally, marked their time there with a few photo shoots with their fellow Flytographers around the world. Bayu and Ivony explored Rome’s romantic cobblestone streets with Flytographer Roberta and discovered one of Europe’s most romantic destinations.

Start your romantic journey through Rome as a local would. Roberta suggests starting early in the morning with a good coffee then wandering the the empty streets while the city is still asleep. Once the city starts to wake, enjoy a typical Italian breakfast of cappuccino and cornetto in one of the amazing bars in the centre of Rome. Try Antico Caffè Greco for the historic charm it has been dishing out since 1760! For bonus Italiano points, relax and linger over a book or a newspaper.

Post-breakfast, relax in one of Rome’s amazing gardens and, of course, enjoy a delicious afternoon gelato. At sunset, Roberta suggests heading to Trastevere for an aperitif or a spritz. Then, have a delightful dinner in the sophisticated Monti neighbourhood. Try La Bottega del Caffè, one of Roberta’s favourites. Grab a table outside and enjoy the lively vibe of the piazza.

Trevi Fountain may be one of Rome’s most visited sites, but take a romantic evening stroll there and you’re likely to have it — in all its carved, illuminated beauty — all to yourselves.

One of the most fun — and characteristically Italian — ways to zip around Rome is by Vespa. Rent a Vespa (or two) from Bici & Baci, My Vespa or Vespa Style Roma, pack up a picnic, and head out for an unforgettably romantic afternoon the two of you will never forget.
