James's Proposal Story in Prague

What is your love story?

Lucy and I both met at a pint night through mutual acquaintances and hit it off immediately. We both quickly learned that we loved some of the same things: food, drinks, and especially travel. Our relationship has centered around travel, and we love to visit new cities both at home in the US and abroad. Our first trip together abroad to Italy came early on in the relationship. We encountered multiple travel issues both going and coming, and we both kept our cool and made a great team! During this trip, I knew she was the one I wanted to explore the world with for years to come.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Lucy's favorite time of the year has got to be Christmas season. I was trying to come up with an idea for a Fall/Winter vacation and decided to visit the Christmas markets in Central Europe. I have always been infatuated with Prague with its history, architecture, and of course beer! I couldn't have picked a better beginning point to our trip, which I capped our last day off with a surprise proposal. From there we were able to enjoy and celebrate throughout the rest of our vacation together.

What is your proposal story?

As everyone knows, travel will have it hiccups. Unfortunately no one can control the weather, but our photographer, Eliška, helped work through all the minor speed bumps. We not only postponed the shoot from the morning until the afternoon, we had to change locations slightly due to the crowds. As stressed as I was, I am glad I had the help of a local. After we had a nice lunch (supposed to be our celebratory lunch), our "local tour guide" met us to show us some of the smaller parts surrounding Prague's Old Town. One picture later and some rising suspicions led us to the river's edge just under the Charles Bridge with Old Town in the background. This was the spot where I asked the woman of my dreams to marry me, and she did not say yes! She said "Of Course!".

Anthony's Proposal Story in Prague

What is your love story?

We had many mutual friends for years, and our paths crossed a few times in passing but they never really stuck. Then one day a friend introduced us for real at a party and we hit it off. Contact information was exchanged, a week later we hung out and the rest is history. We dated for a year, but it wasn't anything serious... until it suddenly was, and we were both head over heels in love with each other. We decided to be officially together as a couple, and it just felt so right that I knew she was the one, but I still had to give it some time to grow.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Prague was the #1 international city we both wanted to see. We had never been anywhere in Europe and while we had talked about it for months, it snuck up on us and then we just decided that we were going to do it and go. It was kind of last minute but I knew Prague was going to be the most perfect backdrop and immediately got to work picking out a ring and getting it expedited so it would arrive in time.

What is your proposal story?

The proposal was planned for the morning, just after sunrise when the city would be quiet. I knew Kat would not want to get made up for a sunrise walk so we planned a sneaky "Vacation shoot" that she was very excited for. It would have been a highlight of the trip had there not even been a proposal. When we were in the right spot Natalie gave me the code word and I paused for a moment, took a breathe in and then knelt down. Our words were private but I told her I could not see my path going forward without her by my side and I asked her to marry me. She was completely surprised and gave me a very emotional yes. It was the best moment of my life! The next hour of the photo shoot was like being on cloud nine and I am so glad that we got to have the moment captured in pictures. Just looking at them brings us both right back to that moment, and our friends and family were ecstatic to see them.

Jason's Proposal Story in Prague

What is your love story?

Betty and I met through online dating but later found out that we went to the same high school and our parents live a mile away from each other!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Prague has some of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in all of Europe. Particularly, I love the whole look of the Charles Bridge from the Baroque statues and the views of the city in the background.

What is your proposal story?

I knew the Charles Bridge would be a great spot for a proposal if there weren't globs of tourists packed into it. Luckily, our photographer Natalie knew the perfect time to go (unsurprisingly, right at sunrise) and the shoot went great!

Richard's Proposal Story in Prague

What is your love story?

Back in high school, 18 years ago, I received a random instant message on AOL from a screen name I didn't recognize. I opened it up, and it was Carina, who was living in Germany and wanted to practice her English. So we started emailing, sending letters in the mail, and exchanging pictures. We started purchasing phone cards to call internationally, too! Eventually, we started video chatting with Skype, Facebook messenger, etc. We had a few missed opportunities to meet during and after college, with missed connecting flights, and me not being available when she was in the U.S. or Canada for business. Finally, in 2017, we decided to make it happen, and I booked my ticket over for June. At this point, we were Skyping/video chatting daily. I flew over, and met her in person for the first time, after 17 years, in Kassel, Germany. By the end of my week there, I knew she was the one, but did not tell her at that time. We continued to talk daily, and we realized we needed to make US happen, and began to plan how to make it happen. I planned my proposal for our road trip through Europe this May and June.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I have always wanted to travel to Prague, and loved the setting it would provide from Letna Park for the background.

What is your proposal story?

We were 15 minutes late getting to the proposal site, because the Uber was late getting to us, and we were stuck in a bit of traffic. He dropped us off at the wrong side of Letna park, so we had to talk a good deal to where we were to meet Eliska! Carina was wearing brand new shoes she purchased on the trip because she forgot her dress shoes at home! So, en route, she got blisters on her heels and her toes! Once we got to the proposal site, she took time to put bandaids on the blisters, I proposed, and we took some pictures there. She didn't realize we had a full 1-hour shoot! She was a trooper and we did the shoot! Eliska chose some beautiful spots in addition to spots we chose on our planning call. We had a blast!
