What is your love story?

After meeting our senior year of college we were inseparable, through Covid and life in general it has been the best 5 and a half years of both our lives. After two years of living together I knew there was no one else in the world I would spend the rest of my life and start a family with.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

About 6 months ago we planned a 2 week trip in Italy, after researching positano I knew right away that it was the perfect location. Most beautiful place in the world for the most beautiful girl in the world.

What is your proposal story?

After arriving in positano we checked in to the Hotel Eden Roc, as a surprise I booked the full suite with a sea view balcony, under the guise of a birthday present I had a half dozen roses, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne waiting in the room for her. I told her we were going to the beach bar before dinner for a couple pictures and drinks. Once we got there Peppe was already there, after asking the “stranger” to take a picture on her phone I told her he was a professional photographer there to take our pictures. After he took his camera out he arranged us where he wanted and that’s when I proposed. However, the surprise was not over as our families were there waiting to surprise her the second the proposal was over. Could not have gone better.

Friends/Family

What is your love story?

We had been friends for a while and I had a huge crush on her. When we went to Nashville Tennessee for the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017, we started officially dating. I immediately knew she was the one. The proposal was October 21st 2022, our wedding day will be September 21, 2024. 21’s our lucky number!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

She had dropped hints over the the last year that ever since she was a little girl she dreamed of being proposed to on the beach in Italy

What is your proposal story?

We had a fake dinner reservation in Positano for 5:30. We knocked on her families hotel rooms and they made excuses that they weren’t ready. I suggested we go down onto the beach to take some nice pictures while we waited. We walked over and started taking some pictures. I summoned over a friendly tourist (Claudio the photographer) and asked him to take a picture of us. He said sure, then offered to take professional pictures. Marissa concerned about the dinner reservation refused and said we need to meet her parents. I jumped in like woah that’d be cool. He took some pictures then gave the code word “it’s perfect” and I did the proposal. We had a table reserved at the hotel with champagne on ice, and the actual dinner reservation for 7:30!

Best tip for proposing in Positano

Covo De Saraceni is a beautiful hotel. The restaurants are incredible. The food delicious and the service impeccable. From the hotel staff to the concierge to our new best friend Rosario from the hotel bar. Ask for Rosario to set up champagne after the proposal, he’ll hook up a romantic set up

What is your love story?

I was hosting friends at my college dorm one evening. She walked in as a friend of a friend and never left. Six years later and we've traveled the world together multiple times and still have fun doing everything from visiting the grocery store together to flying away on international adventures. I'm still thankful that she puts up with all of my ridiculous ideas.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

The Amalfi coast is somewhere we had both always wanted to visit. We had visited Italy before separately, but this was our first time going together. The natural beauty and romance of the area combined with the spectacular architecture of Positano made it the perfect place to propose.

What is your proposal story?

She was expecting something. Going on an international trip after over 6 years together already had all of her friends asking when I was going to propose. I told her we had a vacation photoshoot, so I was able to convince her to get her hair, nails, and makeup done. We were both excited and nervous to be in front of the camera. Once we got down to the beach, the photographer gave me the signal, I got down on one knee and... she turned the wrong way! Once she got turned around correctly, I asked her to marry me and she happily said yes. We finished up the photo session and planned to spend the rest of the day wandering Positano, but I forgot to grab her sneakers to swap for the heels she was wearing. It ended up being the perfect excuse to grab some custom made sandals as a celebration. We wrapped up the day with a gorgeous dinner overlooking the whole city.

Best tip for proposing in Positano

Earlier is better! Positano gets crowded very quickly, to get the iconic photos you need to have your session complete by 9. It's also very steep, so don't forget comfortable shoes

Robert's Proposal Story in Positano

What is your love story?

Mutual friends had introduced us to each other at university back in 2015 and we had our first date about a week later. I didn't tell her where we were going, only to pick out something nice to wear. When I picked her up I gave her a bouquet of flowers before taking her to one of the best restaurants downtown. The night was perfect and we both had a blast, aside from the fact that we accidentally ran into my parents while walking to the restaurant (not bad, just a little embarrassing). We've been together ever since, supporting each others dreams and ambitions every step of the way while trying to travel and have as many adventures possible together.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I had recently taken a new job in Europe and she was staying with me for a month before starting a new job of her own back in the US. During this time she had planned for us to go the Amalfi coast for a week to celebrate our birthdays since they are only a few days apart. I've never seen her so excited about a trip, daily she was sending me photos of the towns and beaches. I was already planning on proposing and given how beautiful the area is and how excited she was it seemed to be perfect.

What is your proposal story?

Similar to our first date I had told her to pick out something nice to wear because I had booked a surprise dinner for her while in Positano. I said since we dressed up we should go down to the beach to take a photo. When we got there our Flytographer Claudio was waiting, and offered to take our picture. Once he said "thats perfect!" I got down on one knee and popped the question. She absolutely loved the surprise and it was a perfect moment.

ADITYA's Proposal Story in Positano

What is your love story?

We met at cute and intimate wine bar in San Francisco that has now become one of our favorite date spots. Lisa was about 20 minutes late so I had a bit of a head start to fuel up on some much needed liquid courage. We had both been looking forward to this evening but travel and our schedules had prolonged this fateful night for quite some time. As soon as Lisa walked in, the energy in the room transformed and sparks between us flew instantaneously. We talked for hours exchanging stories, laughs, and finding we shared a lot of common ground on values, interests, and dreams. Before we knew it, we had shut down the bar (our first of many such experiences!) but it didn't take till the end of the night for me to know she was the one! Three weeks later we were in Hawaii =)

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Italy was a dream destination we both talked about since our first date and we flirted with the idea of traveling there together very early on in our relationship. The Amalfi Coast was on the the top of our list of places to explore and given that we both grew up on or around the beach, coupled with Positano's magical romanticism, it just felt right.

What is your proposal story?

On the day of the proposal, we spent the afternoon relaxing at the beach (right where I would end up proposing that evening) and soaking in the glorious Positano sun. It was much needed given we had walked tens of miles the previous days exploring the streets of Rome. That night, I had a dinner reservation at Zass (highly recommend) followed by a private boat to Capri the following morning that would be the perfect way to celebrate a successful proposal. That evening, after we got ready for dinner, I nervously escorted Lisa down to the beach for some "sunset photos and a drink" and once we got to the "spot" with the breathtaking backdrop of the Positano hillside and the serenity of the sea to our right, I took a deep breath, got down on one knee and asked Lisa to marry me. It was an ethereal moment for us both... oh and she said yes!!!

Jason's Proposal Story in Positano

What is your love story?

Dori and I have been dating for nearly 6 years, but we both knew we were the one’s for each other probably 4 or 5 years ago. Now was just the perfect timing to get engaged and start the next chapter of our lives together.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

The Amalfi Coast was my girlfriend’s number one bucket list destination. And her dream has always been to drive a classic car along the Amalfi Coast, thus I put these two together to come up with my proposal idea.

What is your proposal story?

It went perfectly!! I surprised my girlfriend, Dori, with a 1962 Alfa Romeo giulia spider, convertible once we arrive in Positano. So we drove along the Amalfi Coast with the top down, taking in the breathtaking views. Little did she know, I had coordinated with my photographers, Barbara and Claudio, to stop at a gorgeous picturesque location along the coast. I pulled over to the side of the road, telling Dori, my now fiancé, that this would be a great place to take a picture with the view and the car in the background. She was so excited for the pictures, after all, this was a bucket list item for her. It was then that I suggested someone else take pictures of the both of us, perhaps the woman with the professional camera ;) (this was Barbara btw). After a little small talk, Barbara positioned us in the perfect spot, gave me the code word, then I got down on one knee and popped the question. The rest was history.

Patrick's Proposal Story in Positano

What is your love story?

Lauren and I met in 8th grade and briefly dated, all the while remaining close friends throughout high school. Once we both went to college, our relationship strengthened and we began dating again near the end of 2012. Of course, I've always thought that Lauren could be "the one", but throughout our relationship we've been both in close proximity to one another and have gone through our fair share of long-distance. I think during those times of long distance was when it really "hit me" that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and share our life experiences together!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Lauren and I had been looking forward to this trip for months, as it was her first time traveling to Italy and our first time exploring the Amalfi Coast. We'd been trying to make this trip happen for a couple years, but between work obligations and finding a perfect time to go for both of us, we hadn't been able to lock in the right dates until now. Having known each other since 8th grade and been dating for nearly 6 years, I knew that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, but was just waiting for the "right time and place" to propose. Knowing that Italy is close to home for me with my Dad's side of the family still living in Tuscany, I had always considered one day proposing there. Lauren's a big fan of the beach and her family spends lots of time at Holden Beach, NC. Once we confirmed that we'd be traveling down the Amalfi Coast, I knew that Positano could be an incredible place to propose and would be a neat blend of both our interests.

What is your proposal story?

We spent the first week of our two week trip exploring Rome and Florence before visiting with my family in Tuscany and relaxing, enjoying great food and indulging in even better wine. While this time was cherished, I knew that bigger surprises were in store as our trip progressed. I tried my best to stay "in the moment" and enjoy the trip as it came, but I knew the best was yet to come. We started our second week of the trip by staying two days in Naples and another two days in Sorrento, both of which we really enjoyed. We also took a ferry out to Capri and took in the sights from Mt. Solaro before then heading to Positano to spend our final two days. Once we arrived in Positano, we had a few hours to enjoy the beach before "cleaning up for dinner", or so Lauren thought. I'd told her that we were being picked up by water taxi to go to dinner as an excuse to get her to the proposal spot, which she picked up without any suspicion. At our designated time, we walked down to the ferry docks and I saw our photographers, Barbara and Claudio, ready in the distance. Once the coast was clear, I asked them if they wouldn't mind taking a picture of Lauren and I, which set our proposal into motion. Claudio let us know that they were professionals and asked if we'd like a picture taken with their cameras that they could send to us, to which Lauren and I said yes. Once Claudio set us up in the best angle and gave me his cue, I got down on one knee and proposed! Lauren was very much surprised and couldn't stop smiling as she said "Yes!". Barbara, Claudio and I then filled Lauren in on our plans and we had an hour photoshoot around Positano, which will serve as incredible memories that capped off a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us!

Tony's Proposal Story in Positano

What is your love story?

We met through the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, and we went for coffee on a hot August day. I knew Brenda was the one from the first date as our conversations were so natural and she was so genuine that I immediately realized she was different from any other woman I had dated. From then, from being so wonderful to my family, to allowing me to be my natural self without any hesitation or fear of being judged, she has never ceased to make me the happiest man in the world.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

That natural backdrop and beautiful grounds of Villa Cimbrone gardens are very unique!

What is your proposal story?

We were both very emotional as I bent down on one knee and exchanged hugs and kisses before the ring could even be placed on her left hand. It was the most magical, happy, and emotional moment of my life.
