When you get engaged at Disneyland, it’s hard to outdo yourself in the romance department. That is, until you take stunning engagement photos in one of the most iconic cities for love – Paris! During their 35 day tour of Europe, Christine and Calvin decided to take the opportunity to capture their love in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Flytographer Goncalo captured this gorgeous couple as they struck a pose in some seriously stunning locales. With the Eiffel Tower and Louvre as your backdrop, it doesn’t get more magical than this!

“This trip was one that was long-awaited. 35 days in Europe! London, Paris,Germany, Spain, drive through the south of France, and back on trains throughout Italy, from Milan to Rome, stopping in major cities. It was definitely a tiring, but AMAZING trip. Our engagement shoot was not a part of the plan when we booked our tickets, but half way through planning, we thought, why not? It was a once in lifetime trip; just the two of us, and two backpacks. That’s right ladies, I had to pack minimally. Which turned out to be a tougher task for my fiancé than it was for me. TIP: pack less, buy more! You can buy all the essentials you need at pharmacies in each country. Plus, you want to leave room for souvenirs!”

“The photoshoot itself was so much fun. We worked with Goncalo who made the experience comfortable and fun for us. We wanted photos that were not so posed and had more natural lighting, which was exactly what we got. Warning ladies, Parisian streets really are not made for stilettos! But for me, cute shoes were worth it! There was a moment where we were walking to the Eiffel Tower (our first out of two locations) and I was taking quite a while to get there, stumbling on rocks along the way. Next thing you know, I was literally swept off my feet! My fiancé had picked me up, and turned to me and said “ We only have 2 hours to take these pictures!” Goncalo captured it all on camera! We laughed then, and laugh now every time we see the picture. These pictures were the best souvenirs we could have asked for. It was the cherry-on-top of an amazing experience!”

“Calvin proposed to me at Disneyland, and with our engagement photos in Paris, what more could a girl ask for? The trouble was, trying to figure out hair and makeup! Thank goodness for M.A.C. stores! They work just like in the states, you can get your makeup done at a store for free with the purchase of 60 Euros worth of products. Just be sure to make an appointment. I went to the one on Champ-Elysees. As for hair, I stuck to my handy dandy curling iron. With the wind that afternoon, it would have been a waste to get my hair professionally done. Oh! Another tip: bring safety pins. The zipper to my dress malfunctioned, and those are what saved me from a melt-down!”

“Paris was truly an amazing place. We stayed for 5 days in St. Germain, which I thought was a perfect distance from everything you would want to see. We used public transportation mainly, but walking along the Seine was a beautiful alternative. Paul’s Boulangerie was our go-to every morning, since it was right at our doorstep. It’s a chain Boulangerie, so you can find them in several places. Crisp croissants that just melt in your mouth after the first bite! Add a cafe to that and we were set for the day. You could look up places to eat ahead of time, but we decided to explore whatever was around the corner from where we were, a plan that never failed us.” – Christine
