Travel Story
We spent months trying to decide on the perfect honeymoon location and I am so thankful that we ended up choosing the Amalfi Coast of Italy! Our hotel was in Praiano, a quiet town that made for a great central hub since it was located right in the middle of all of the coast towns. Of course the highlight of our trip was visiting Positano! There is a quote I found about Positano by John Steinbeck that says: "Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone." This couldn't be more true! We rented a boat in Positano and sailed all the way down the coast line to Ravello and back, with Kyle taking over as captain and me making sure the wine stayed cold. When we got back, we parked our boat directly in front of the Positano cliffside a couple hundreds yard back. We drank our wine and pondered how a place so beautiful could possibly exist. It is a moment I will never forget!
Travel Tips
On our first of many day trips to Positano, we scheduled our honeymoon photoshoot with Mary & Maurizio. Their photos are definitely my favorite souvenirs of the trip! They took us on the beach notorious for its bright orange umbrellas, to the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, and gave us insider tips on where to find the best Italian food. My favorite restaurant was Restaurant L'Ancora where we ended up eating twice! We took a day trip to Marisa Cumo Winery which is way up high in Fuorere and is a must-see! Our wine tasting included a tour of the vineyard, a 5 course meal, and obviously lots of wine! We also took a day trip by boat to the island of Capri, where we ate some amazing pizza and tried limoncello for the first time. There is a chairlift that takes you to the top of Monte Solaro, which had breathtaking views from 2000 feet above the water. For anyone considering traveling to the Amalfi Coast, you will not be disappointed! The food, the wine, the massive cliffs, and the beautiful sea are all unforgettable - we can't wait to go back someday!
