What is your love story?

Had a pretty good idea from our first date, and after about a year of completely different circumstances and trials and challenges we overcame together, I knew she was the one. I knew she made me better in every way and I knew there wasn’t anything we couldn’t get through together.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Always have wanted to go to Italy, so has she, first time to Europe… we had a really good year, and I knew this was a perfect place to propose

What is your proposal story?

We went on a 4 hour tour, had to try every way to hide the fact that I got a photographer because she is the suspicious type. So I said the tour was the reason she should dress nice just in case the tour guide took a picture of us somewhere iconic, such as St Marks Square. Fortunately it worked, because right after the tour we walked to our meeting spot with Vito, the photographer, and before she could really put together the fact that we were getting pictures and moving to all these romantic spots in Venice I had been able to get the ring out of my pocket and propose. Venice is such a gorgeous city, I could’ve proposed anywhere and it would’ve been gorgeous but Vito directed us to a very secluded bridge that made for a fantastic moment.

How did you meet?

Rebecca was looking for parking in my busy neighborhood during Memorial Day Weekend and came up to me on my balcony to ask if she would get a ticket for parking across the stress. I told her she had nothing to worry about and the rest is history.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We had been planning a trip to Italy for some time and I wanted the proposal to take place in a special location. Rome and Milan were too busy of locations and Venice is one of the most romantic places in the World (I can fully confirm that now!).

What is your proposal story?

I told Rebecca that we had an early tour booked and needed to be somewhere at 7:00am and look nice because of where we would be going. Even though this mean that she would need to wake up extra early, she was excited for the day! We took a stroll to the St. Mark's Square & Doge's Palace area while a beautiful sunrise opened up the day. At 7:00am there was hardly anybody around so we had an intimate time for me to tell her all of the things I love about her, the future we have talked about for a while, and eventually ask her to marry me. With a colorful sunrise and San Giorgio Island in the background, she said yes and we were lucky to get this special moment captured.

Early, Early, Early. Even in the middle of November Venice became extremely busy beginning around 9:00am. Getting up early gave us the chance for this proposal to be intimate and special and have the city to ourselves.

What is your love story?

Our personalities compliment each other very well, in an epitomical opposites-attract way. But in terms of values, we are very similar. We love each other's company during the good times, and we've developed great strategies for working through bad times in a healthy way. All of these together made me realize she was the one for me!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Lisia and I had talked about marriage, and were also planning a trip to Italy. Lisia mentioned at some point that she thought Venice was the most romantic city in the world, so it was an easy choice from there!

What is your proposal story?

I had HUGE difficulty the day of the proposal, having to deal with some awful food poisoning from a sandwich I ate the night before. I wasn't even sure if I could make it to the photo shoot, especially considering Venice is a walking-only city, and we had to walk a good 45 minutes to get to the start of the shoot. But I pushed through with the support of my amazing fiancee who had to take care of me during a few heat flashes, and I tried my best to not look sour during the shoot! You can tell in a few of our pictures that I wasn't feeling well, but overall they still turned out amazing, and when the time came to pop the question, everything went very smoothly (besides forgetting to open the ring box! Hehe). Lisia was ecstatic and said yes!

The moment I saw her in person, I knew she was my soultie. I never believed in soulmates and always thought relationships were hard work. They're not. Being with Katherine has been the easiest thing I've ever done.

I wanted to do it in venice but ended up doing it in Florence because of the weather and my girlfriend had mentioned she wanted to be proposed to near the Boboli gardens in italy so I ended up doing it in Florence the day after we were in Venice!

You got to do it early in the morning 6:30-7:30ish as the best spots like lovers bridge (Rialto Bridge) get SUPER crowded after 8am/9am. My Photographer helped me with everything!

What is your love story?

She's been my best friend and partner for 12 years. We've been dating for 6 and it was obvious she was the one from day one. It was time!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

The trip was booked as a celebration for my 40th birthday as a bucket list trip. The location was everything I had ever dreamed of for a proposal so it all fell in line perfectly!

The proposal was on my 40th birthday. I knew it would be the biggest surprise for her as she was expecting to celebrate with me at a special dinner in San Marco plaza that evening. What is your love story?

We met in college. The first time I laid eyes on her she was playing her guitar and singing "The Rose". I told my buddy right then that I was going to marry that girl. A year later I proposed and a year after that we were married. Forty years, three children and two grandchildren later she is still my college girlfriend.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We had been to Venice before when the kids were still in school and it was a city that we always wanted to return to. To celebrate our retirement from teaching and our 40th anniversary we rented an apartment for a month without a plan. We wandered the city, took a few tours, ate in some wonderful restaurants, and took the train on a couple of day trips. The plan without a plan was wonderful.

What is your proposal story?

This was not a typical proposal story since we've been married for four decades. Still - I wanted to do something special. When I first proposed we were both broke college students. I knelt on the floor in front of her in a borrowed condo in Florida on semester break. No pictures - nothing to mark the event other than that sweet memory. This time we had the means to rent an apartment in Venice. I used her mother's ring she kept after her passing and chose the day that would have been her parents 69th anniversary. Our photographer, Vito brought us to a bridge over the Rio de la Fornace in Dorsoduro away from the crowds and gave me the cue. Yes, she was surprised, yes she cried and yes, this time we have pics. :)

Take the photographers suggestions instead of being stuck on a location where every other tourist is jockeying for a selfie. Let them guide you for the best shots.

School

What is your love story?

We met in high school, Amanda was a dancer in the school musical where I played the cello in the pit band. I also sat behind her in English and Italian class. We started talking through mutual friends and started dating after a few months. It's been 13 years since then and there was never a question that she was the one!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We have always wanted to visit Italy and since I have been working in Croatia the last few months, it seemed like the perfect opportunity! Venice is such a unique city and I wanted a special place to propose to my special partner!

What is your proposal story?

We took the vaporetto to San Giorgio which overlooks the main island. It was early in the morning and the only other person there was our photographer. I had planned for her to meet us there and I would ask her to take a photo of us with my phone. The plan was that she would then offer to take a photo with her professional camera and then I would get down on one knee. It all went perfectly and now we have the photos to prove it!

What is your love story?

Jerome and I met in Liège (Belgium) a bit more than 2 years ago. I was jogging around his office and he was out on his lunch break. We saw each other and that was love at first sight. Back then nothing seemed possible between us but life took care of the details and here we are!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Isn’t Venice one of the most romantic places in the world?! ;)

What is your proposal story?

Everything went exactly as planned! Olga was waiting for us at the chosen spot. When we got there I asked my partner to take a selfie with me. This was my sign to Olga so she could approach us. She came and offered her help to take a pictures of us (as we had planned before). So she grabbed my phone and set it into video mode while she was pretending to take one or two pictures. When she was all settled she gave me a sign and I knew it was all up to me now. It was my time to go down on my knees and propose. And so I did! And the result is exactly as I expected!

What is your love story?

Allie and I met when I was visiting a mutual friend in Washington DC. I was living in California at the time so I only got to speak with her that one night. We were out at a bar together and I liked her a lot so I asked for her number. The next morning I was sitting on the plane to go back and texted her. That begin three months of long distance dating. I flew back to the East Coast for a new job and spent a week with her before starting. As I was about to take a train away from her again that’s when I knew I loved her and I told her right before I left. 6 months later we finally got to live in the same state, Connecticut, where we now have lived together for 3 years!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We’d planned to be in Italy 7 months earlier and we both decided it would be a perfect place to have the engagement, while we were on vacation in a romantic country.

What is your proposal story?

We did a sunrise shoot on the Accademia Bridge. I read Allie a letter I had written before the day about our relationship and what I loved most about her. And then I got on one knee and asked. We were both crying from joy. I could barely say “will you marry me?” after I said her name, I was so nervous. She reminded me to say it. That’s why I’m holding my arm up in the photo.

What is your love story?

We met on a flight from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. I (Jacob) was the pilot of the plane and Sophie was a passenger on the flight with her mum and sister! There was an instant connection on our return flight to Las Vegas when we had the chance to talk and get to know about each other. I chose Venice to propose to my girlfriend as it is somewhere she has wanted to visit since we first met and it seemed like it would be the most perfect and romantic spot to share the memories of our engagement!

It was raining the morning of the proposal so I was slightly concerned that it wouldn’t stop in time! But luckily the rain stopped, the clouds parted and I was able to drop to my knee in the perfect moment, and Sophie instantly said yes! What is your love story?

Jen and I have known each other since middle school and had been friends for a number of years. We started dating our senior year of high school - it was the typical football player/cheer captain relationship. I told her that I loved her after we'd only been dating for 2 weeks. You could say I "knew it" then. But then we graduated and we both went to different schools, which was difficult. We wanted to try and make it work, so we spent the first year taking turns riding buses to each other's colleges before I decided to transfer. We spent the next three years at Pitt and things were amazing but when we both graduated we were separated again when I accepted a job in Mexico. We were separated for over 7 months before finally seeing each other but things have been great since then. I accepted a new job in Cleveland and then was transferred back to Pittsburgh. Now we have our own apartment and a 6 month old German Shepherd and life couldn't be better. I'd say that I've known she was "the one" since I was 17 years old and over the last 8 years that has been re-affirmed time and time again.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We had been planning a trip to Italy for almost two years. I wanted to propose in Venice because I had heard how beautiful the city was and I knew she would love the city because of all of the canals and waterways. I made sure Venice was the first stop on our Italian vacation because I didn't trust myself to keep it a secret any longer.

What is your proposal story?

We took a gondola ride through Venice and shared a kiss as we passed under the Bridge of Sighs. After the ride we stepped off in Dorsoduro near the Basilica di Santa Maria. The point was secluded and we were able to enjoy a view back towards San Marco as boats sailed by. As I pulled the ring from my pocket and got down on one knee, the look on Jen's face was priceless. It was as if our long journey had finally paid off and now we could start planning the rest of our lives together, as opposed to just dreaming of it.

My fiancee's cousin was getting married in Florence, after which we were heading to Venice for a few nights. Venice is one of the most romantic cities in the world. Once I had decided to propose, doing it in Venice was a no-brainer!

It had to be there. It had to be in Venice! My last name is Veneziano and I couldn't think of a more perfect place to have this proposal. It's such a romantic city and it made the proposal incredibly magical!

As rare as it sounds, the proposal went exactly as planned! I told Monika we were going to "one of my favorite restaurants" in Venice for dinner. Obviously, there was no restaurant and we were actually headed to this beautiful bridge where the proposal took place. What is your love story?

Our story didn't start off as a fairy tale. We met online, as most people do these days and after talking for a few weeks we decided to go on a date and meet. A simple first date that will live in my heart forever. I had no idea at that time that this would be the woman I fell in love with and married one day. I can still see her getting out of her car and walking up to the resturant in slow motion just like the movies. That first time I saw her moment. I'll never forget it. We connected instantly and our relationship grew. We didn't do "life" in the typical order. We fell in love, moved in together and after two years we had a child together. I knew she was the one a little after a year together. I wanted to marry her then but like most people money was tight and life was busy, it took some time but I was finally able to afford the ring and the perfect proposal trip. Today we are now engaged, parents to an amazing daughter and I couldn't be happier.

Italy has always been a desired travel destination for us. The beauty, the history. I knew I wanted to propose their. I chose Venice due to the Bridge of Sighs. A timeless bridge with such elegance and style. It was the perfect setting to ask the woman I loved the big question.

I was very nervous. Sweaty, choked up, and beyond happy! I told Anna we were going to a very formal breakfast at sunrise, luckily for me, she didn't do any research cause otherwise she would have know that breakfast esspecially a formal one, arnt really present in Italy, Italians seem to celebrate brunch more and not really in a formal way. So it was perfect and she was completely thrown off and suprised. When we got to the bridge of sighs. I confessed that there was no breakfast and that our entire vacation was meant for this moment. What is your proposal story?

I proposed to my husband publicly-ish. It was amazing - but I was SO full of nerves!First in the morning I exhanged my picture with my photographer, Siza. So that we will be able to easily identify each other at the meeting location( prefixed ). Once we’re up there in the square, it was a really tight squeeze, and I was freaking out about proposing publicly. That Time I saw Siza and we intimated each other to walked towards the front of the Saint Mark's Basilica to get a view of it. After I was ready for the Big thing, I acted like I wanted to take a selfie and then Siza approached and offered to take a photo of the couple( It was the plan) and did the probable adjustments. When everything was perfect she gave my Phone back to me (that was the cue).Now not only my Heart started beating fast but also it was a big wrestle to take out the big watch case out of my bag. Then But After all the hustle, I get down on one knee and sang.. “I wana grow old with you, I wana die lying in your arms I wana be there for you Sharing in everything you do”..
