How did you meet?

School

What is your love story?

We met in medical school and we immediately became best friends. I knew she was the one when I realized that it didn’t matter where I matched for residency as long as I was with her.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We were already planning to come to Italy for a friends wedding in which I was the best man at. We decided to stay an extra few days to do some hiking in the Dolomites, I decided that it would be the perfect place to pop the question.

What is your proposal story?

I planned the entire Dolomites trip and made each day a surprise for her. The first day we went to Alpe de Suisi, the second day was Seceda, and the third day was when I proposed at Pana Raida. It was very hard to keep a complete surprise since we had already been ring shopping and planned on getting engaged for a while but I did my best to keep her out of the loop. We had a short walk to the proposal site where our photographer Nadia pretended to be a tourist and offered to take our picture which is when I asked Deepa to be mine forever!

Best tip for proposing in The Dolomites

Plan Ahead! Many of the viewpoints/ places to propose at require a lengthy hike to get to which may not be feasible in clothing that you’d like to have your picture taken in.
