What is your love story?

We were high school sweethearts, first loves. Our college/adult lives separated us for 18 years. We fell in love again and 4 years later, almost to the date was when I proposed to her in Italy, our homeland. It’s been a paradise relationship.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We are Italian but we have never been. Our relationship has and is so powerful that I wanted it to be in the country of our heritage and the city that to me, is the most beautiful.

What is your proposal story?

I surprised her by saying we had a private Colosseum tour in Rome early in the morning. The photographer and I planned the morning due to low crowds and good lighting. As we walked down the via I dropped back and when she turned around, I was down on a knee with the photographer grabbing every moment. The via overlooked the Roman Forum so the shots were amazing.

What is your love story?

You just kinda of know. It’s hard to explain but there comes a point where you know you can’t live without that person. We have the same goals and interests despite being opposites, but you just know at some point.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Opportunity and help from family and friends.

What is your proposal story?

Well nothing went as planned haha. We were supposed to be in our hotel room early after our tour of the Vatican, but we randomly ran into friends near the Spanish steps when we made a pit stop to do some shopping. 4 hours later we still weren’t back in the hotel so I can come up with a story about how we have reservations of a nice restaurant with a view of the colosseum. Still being with our friends and even though we were having a good time, we needed to go! I had to come up with a man excuse that my stomach hurt and we needed to rush to the hotel so I can use the restroom asap. I was texting our photographer the whole time telling her about the mess, but she was amazing. It didn’t go as planned but I guess that makes it that much more special. She didn’t expect it to happen at all.

Give yourself more than a month to plan it all. I got lucky Roberta was able to help me on such short notice!

What is your love story?

I met Nikki through mutual friends while on a double date at a movie theatre. We immediately clicked and the rest is history. We bought a house early last year and I finally found the right moment to propose.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I’ve always wanted to visit Rome and I thought the Trevi Fountain was one of the more captivating historical monuments in the area.

What is your proposal story?

During the early morning hours of August 8th, 2023, I approached the Trevi fountain with Nikki. As I approached I could hearing the flowing water of the fountain and my nerves started to kick in. Nikki and I rounded the corner and the fountain was now in our sight. While Nikki was indulging in the sights of the fountain, I began to look for Roberta, my photographer. I caught a glimpse of Roberta and recognized her from the selfies we had exchanged via WhatsApp just minutes earlier. I escorted Nikki to the planned spot and asked Roberta to take a selfie of us in-front of fountain. After Roberta snapped a photo will my cellphone she gave me the cue to propose. At this point my heart was beating out of my chest and I dropped to one knee and asked the love of my life to marry me. Thankfully Roberta captures the moment because it’s practically a blur in my head from all the built up nerves. Roberta then went on to walk Nikki and I around Rome to capture additional amazing photos.

Early morning is the best time to get photos before crowds develop.

What is your love story?

We matched on Hinge and she made the first move. We met at the height of the pandemic, but after we finally met in person it took off. Our conversations always felt like we had known each other for years and after going on multiple domestic trips together, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We were itching to get an international trip in after travel restrictions started lightening up and Rome was on both of our lists so we quickly booked a flight. She always said that good things happened to her when she travels so I thought there was no better way to continue that streak.

What is your proposal story?

The big day was successful! I told her we had surprise event planned at the Fontana dell' Acqua so we made our way there early in the morning. Our photographer was set-up as friendly tourist and offered to take our photo. After that, I got down on one knee and ask her to be my wife and she said yes!

Try to stay clear of popular tourist spots and do the photoshoots as early as you can to limit the amount of crowds.

I knew very quickly CJ was the one. I was stressed from school one day and she just came next to me. She said she loved me and comforted me for a bit. After that, I wrote down that I would marry her eventually.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

She is studying abroad this semester in Rome!

What is your proposal story?

She was running late the morning of and she could clearly see I was getting very anxious. After arriving to meet Guido by the Trevi fountain we took some photos and then it was time. Guide gave us some coins and we tossed them in to make a wish. I asked her what she wished for. She replied, “You know I can’t tell you!” Then I said, “Maybe I can make then come true.” After saying that, I proposed! (And she said yes, thankfully!!)

Do it early in the morning when no one is around! There are so many amazing places where you can propose, but they can often be crowded if not done early.

What is your love story?

My partner and I met on 8.12.12 in the zip code of 81212, which I have always found divine. Our first time meeting was a dream and totally unexpected, neither one of us were looking. I was helping my aunt with a free ride service and he had just moved into town for his apprenticeship. We picked him and some others up from the bar to take home and we ended up having breakfast at 3 am, watching a meteor shower and the sunrise. All while laughing, sharing stories and singing songs. That’s when I felt this was a deeper connection. Before I knew it, I moved into his camper and began traveling the west coast with him, my family thought I was crazy. It’s been 7 years since, we now have two kids and we continue to travel around together. I found it perfect that I proposed to him on 12.1, it adds to our numbers 1 & 2 which has been something that we celebrate and proposing to him on that date wasn’t really planned. I just picked the last day of our trip and it happened to be 12.1. Our love is aligned!

When in Rome! It was our last full day from our trip to Italy.

What is your proposal story?

I had originally planned to turn on some music and have us dance to our favorite song we dance to as a family with our kids. But I was extremely nervous and decided to just propose instead. Which thankfully Guido helped me with. So we took some clever photos and when Kade turned around I proposed. I was so nervous though that I didn’t say much and I didn’t even ask if he would marry me. I just shoved the ring on his finger assuming his answer would be yes. All in all, it was a perfect proposal in my eyes.

What is your love story?

We met in high school, went to prom together, and knew we had something special right away. We officially started dating in college and have been inseparable ever since! ❤️

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I researched potential proposal spots in each stop of our two week Europe trip, and thought a location overlooking the city of Rome would be ideal for the moment. It was also one of the earlier stops on our trip, which allowed us to use the remaining time to celebrate!

What is your proposal story?

On our first night in Rome, he told me we had dinner reservations at a restaurant his friend had recommended. When we got there, it was a beautiful restaurant overlooking the whole city of Rome! He suggested we walk over towards the terrace to get a picture of the view, and I could tell he was nervous. We took a picture, and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! I saw the photographer out of the corner of my eye and people near us all started cheering and clapping. It was the most amazing moment of my life! Afterwards, our photographer, Roberta, took us on an hour-long photoshoot through the Borghese Gardens at sunset. We ended the night with champagne toasts, a delicious dinner, and the most special pictures to always remind us of this moment.

What is your love story?

I met Jessie through mutual friends in college. We always would catch each other at events or parties but we never were formally introduced until the end of my senior year. Luckily I made the decision to stay in LA after college and we spent the summer getting to know each other and found out we had a lot in common.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

One of the things we really love to do is travel. We've been to many states and cities together and even have done a few international trips as well. We had been planning an Italy trip for about a year and I looked at Rome and the Trevi fountain as the perfect opportunity to ask her to marry me!

What is your proposal story?

The proposal went great! I couldn't be any happier with how surprised and in shock Jessie was! When we got to Trevi, I was a little concerned because there was quite a bit of people around, but Roberta was able to capture the moment perfectly and you can see the happiness in both of our smiles throughout the pictures.

What is your love story?

Kara and I met in college and dated for some time while attending school. After life pulled us our separate ways when we were younger - life ended up pushing us back together several years later. After having time to mature and experience the world, once we got back together we knew how special our relationship was and I knew I wouldn't let her get away from me a second time.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

One of the worlds most romantic cities - enough said.

What is your proposal story?

With a major pro cycle race closing many of the streets needed to access our shooting location things were looking dicey. Needless to say I was freaking out on the inside but tried my best to keep cool in front of Kara. After the race was finally over we made our way to the shooting location above the Spanish Steps. Upon arriving, we had an breathtaking vista of Rome in front of us. The sunset was low in the sky and made for perfect mood lightly on an amazingly clear day. It was as if the delay from the cycle race was meant to be. Once we arrived to the proposal location I saw our photographer and I knew it was on. I dropped on one knee - told Kara I loved her and the rest as they say is history. History that is captured in some really awesome photos!

What is your love story?

Katt & I met ten years ago in beautiful Sacramento, California, through mutual friends. We wrote each other letters, drew pictures, exchanged poems, and had the most magical college romance that ever was. Today, the legend continues: we live on a tree-lined street near the American river with our wild-caught cat, in a tiny apartment with stacks of books & drawing papers. We’ve enjoyed travel to Los Angeles, New York, Paris and beyond to look at art and seek adventure. We’re living the life of our dreams together, and are so excited for the next chapter.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We’d long planned a trip to Italy. I’d dreamed of seeing the work of Caravaggio, Michelangelo, & Bernini in person, & Catholic Kathryn was excited to see the Vatican in all its glory. After beholding there wonders and more, I thought it only fitting to start the next phase of our journey together in the eternal city.

What is your proposal story?

Katt and I embarked on the Pont Sant’Angelo early morning, just after sunrise. As luck would have it, we had the first sunshine of our whole trip. At the appointed hour, when the bells rang at St. Peter’s, I asked. The ring box had an old photo of Katt & I from 10 years ago inside (plus ring, obvs). With tolling bells and the stone angels of the bridge watching, Katt said yes!!! :) Francesca seamlessly captured the magic of our proposal moment, and created simply astonishing, beautiful images of our special day! After the tears and joy of the ask itself (she said yes!) Francesca took the most glorious pictures of us on the Ponte Sant’Angelo. Then we walked through dreamy backstreets in Rome, taking candid shots in the most perfectly picked places (we were even lucky enough to get pictures on the Piazza Navona in brilliant sunshine, with not another soul around: INCREDIBLE!) What an amazing, wonderful experience. Francesca was just so charming and delightful: it was truly a joy to share our special moment with her, and we are so thankful to have such lovely images to remember our special day. We would highly recommend Francesca’s beautiful work, friendly & personable manner, and expert skill in capturing memories that we will treasure for a lifetime. Bravo!
