What is your love story?

Harshi and I met in college where we were both in the same major. When we graduated, we were off to different coasts (NYC and Santa Barbara) for work and graduate school. Along the way, we had a shotgun wedding to ensure that Harshi could stay in the country. This 'long-distance-marriage' lasted for 5 years, and we deserved a proper proposal!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

This was our first vacation alone, and on a whim we decided to visit Nice. I knew that I wanted to propose on the trip, and Nice seemed like a great place to do it. Flytographer helped me to find a local photographer at the last minute, and so the plan was in place.

What is your proposal story?

We spent the day wandering around Old Nice. Come proposal time, we climbed to the top of Colline du Château, where I planned to meet Gaetan (our amazing photographer). After asking that he help take a picture of us and offering to snap some shots with his professional camera, I got on one knee to propose. Harshi's immediate reaction was embarrassment: "Just because a nice photographer offers to take a picture you don't fake a proposal". Once she saw the ring box, she understood that it was for real. Luckily she said 'yes'!

How did you meet?

What is your love story?

I knew she was the one when it felt like our life’s fit like a perfect puzzle. Our love developed so easy and I knew that she was the one I was supposed to do life with.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We were traveling to France for our first international trip and I knew wanted to make the trip truly special. I chose Nice because she is an ocean lover and knew she would love to have Nice be a city forever apart of our story!

What is your proposal story?

I told her we were going to a fancy dinner and to dress nicely. On the way to dinner I suggested we stop at Castle Hill to see the views of Nice. We were taking photos when I asked her if she wanted to go to the top level with a waterfall but instead of going to the top I got down a knee and popped the question!

Make sure the address is typed correctly on the Uber app on your way to castle hill or else your plans maybe be altered!

What is your love story?

We met in an NYC apartment where our college friends frequented and initially made each other’s acquaintances. We got to know one another even more as time went by and later that year we became a couple on the rooftop of that same apartment. Our relationship started off very rocky in terms of our physical time spent together, as she was finishing school in North Carolina while I was starting residency in Long Island. We were also separated for half a year because of the pandemic. So we made the best of our situation and fully utilized late night video chats to catch up with each other. We eventually moved in together in NYC when she started her job in Manhattan, and things have been going amazing! We adopted a kitty and our family has been full of love and joy since living together. Our lives naturally grew together, and now she is my best friend who I can trust with all my thoughts and hopes and dreams.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We had carved out a week of time in between our busy finance and medicine work schedules to escape to Southern France for a well-needed vacation. We had wanted to end up in Nice and enjoy the scenic ocean views, French culture and delicious southern cuisine. Once I had obtained the engagement ring the week before our trip I knew that the romantic destination would have been a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to ask the question I’ve wanted to ask for a very long time.

What is your proposal story?

We met our photographer in front of one of the local hotels on the Promenade, and she had no idea everything had been prepared. We started off with some beautiful boardwalk photos and then went by the ocean for some more pictures. While the waves were coming onshore and the signal was given, I apologized for keeping everything a secret until this point, emphasized how much I had been wanting to propose, got down on one knee and the rest is history. We both got incredibly emotional given how much we had endured to get to this point in our personal and professional lives, and the 5 minutes spent hugging felt like an eternity of bliss and relief washing over both of us. We continued the rest of the shoot and couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of our day in Nice.

Best tip for proposing in Nice

Nice in the wintertime can get chilly despite being in a rather temperate climate, but it was perfect in terms of being a little more quiet with less foot traffic for the photos. We were dressed in light jackets and it was warm enough for us. The weather can go up and down but we were incredibly lucky that it was mildly cloudy and mostly sunny on our proposal day. There are a ton of shoot locations for the promenade but we stuck around the Hotel Negresco/Musée Massena area which has a mix of land, sea, gardens and architecture that gives you a great selection of proposal locations. Morning is probably best for lighting and pedestrian traffic for the shoot! Afterwards if you walk towards Old Nice there are tons of cafes and restaurants you can celebrate with lunch.

What is your love story?

We were both out at a bar with a friend. Josh walked upstairs and through the doorway, we caught eyes. I walked right up to him, introduced myself and we chatted. After exchanging numbers and messaging all week, we had dinner the following Friday and the rest is history.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We honestly can't remember other than finding a place to vacation by the water in Europe and somewhere we have never been before.

What is your proposal story?

The proposal was a success but not at all according to plan! When we arrived at the planned destination, I learned it was closed for a last-minute private event. After trying to contain a little anxiety, I connected with Thiebauld through text to come up with an alternative plan without Josh even suspecting. Thiebauld scouted out the new location, gave me perfect directions and the moment was beautiful. Josh was surprised and we had the best night ever.

What is your love story?

After meeting aged 18 on an internship in the City of London and years of friendship, Funmi (phunmi_cx) and I began dating and knew marriage was on the cusp at some point later on our their lives. Through our continual love and growth, with similar interests and perfect team combination, we always knew we were destined to be together forever.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Our first holiday was a trip to France, around five years ago we visited Paris, Nice and Monaco. To reminisce the beginning of our dating journey and wanted to return to Nice. Also we enjoy travelling, and my partner likes warm weather, beaches and good hotels. Nice had the perfect balance of those requirements added with the perfect proposal destination: Castle Hill.

What is your proposal story?

Lekan whisked Funmi for a surprise birthday holiday to Nice in the South of France, staying in the amazing @negrescohotel for their trip. He took her a romantic evening stroll to Castle Hill, a beautiful garden in the city that overlooks the French Riviera coast. Just before the sun had set, he picked his moment and dropped down to one knee to ask for Funmi’s hand in marriage.
