What is your love story?

Rachel and I met through a mutual friend we both had. I saw my friend post a video of Rachel leaving class and I immediately asked my friend who she was. Nothing much happened after that until one night, my friend invited us out to a bar and told me Rachel was going to be there. Even if I worked an 8 hour shift I was determined to go My friends and I pregammed before, and then met Rachel and her friend at the bar. When we got there we shook each others hands..but then I got super sick due to the pregame so I spent a lot of the time in the bathroom. Rachel told me that she wanted to talk to me that night too but I kept disappearing. I finally got better and we hung out at the bar and then got pizza after. I knew she was the one because all night we spoke about our friends, family and our shared love of sports, which really caught my eye. A few weeks later, I asked her out and we decided to get sushi and watch a movie together. During our sushi dinner, I knew she was the one because she immediately said ‘’I can’t use chopsticks for this. Let’s use our hands.’’ And we both immediately dropped our chopsticks and sighed in relief. 5 years later and here we are!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Our friends decided to go to Banff for a fun fall trip! I decided to choose Lake Louise because of the background, and the snow made it much more magical because Rachel loves Winter. We both love doing new things together and going on different adventures and we both have never been to Banff so it was perfect.

What is your proposal story?

Rachel had noooo idea this was going to happen. Our friends and I told her that we had a special lunch planned at the hotel at Lake Louise and to dress up really nice. She was making it super difficult that morning because she kept saying she didn’t want to wear fake lashes or dress up because it was cold. I eventually convinced her and we were good to go. I planned with Darine to meet us at Lake Louise. When we got there it was so cold, icy and snowy and Rachel was starting to get skeptical. We started to walk around, take pictures and then pretend to take a group picture. When we did, Darine interrupted us and said ‘’can I take your picture with my camera, I’d love to add it to my growing portfolio?’’ Darine took it and that’s where I asked Rachel.

Best tip for proposing in Banff

If it snows, be careful driving to Lake Louise! Also if you decide to do it during the busy months, it can get very crowded. If you do it during off season, it won’t be and people won’t disrupt your pictures.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We both love outdoor adventures and excited to see the glaciers and blue lakes at banff.

What is your proposal story?

We did a hike around Lake Louise in the morning, enjoyed the sunrise and then got the proposal after. The photoshoot was amazing and something we will always remember. After the photoshoot, we ended up doing afternoon tea at the Fairmont on the lake. :)

Expect to be overwhelmed with feelings , it goes by really fast and something you will always remember.

What is your love story?

We met through her cousins, who were my bestfriends in college. We met once in college and then didn't cross paths again for 2 years. She came to visit New Orleans (where I lived after college) with her cousins and they invited me to meet up with them twice. The second time, we fell in love during a drunken night on Bourbon Street and we have been together ever since! It's been 5.5 years and we have since moved to Nashville, TN together.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Banff was a bucket list location for me and it seemed to all fall into place. I was sent to Banff for a work conference. I asked her to come with me and we turned it into a vacation.

What is your proposal story?

We took a bus to Lake Minnewanka, which is cheaper and much less crowded than Lake Louise or Moraine Lake. It was easier to plan around the bus schedule just incase our schedule got pushed back as well. Robin acquired and cleaned a wine bottle from a local liqour store. I sent him a pdf for the message, which he printed out, and stuffed in the top. He placed it where he wanted us to stand to capture the proposal as a "fly on the wall". Afterwards, I let my fiance know he was our photographer and we took a few engagement style photos. After speaking, we chose a mixture of fly on the wall/friendly tourist/known photographer styles to acheive the perfect setup. It was perfect at 7:30 pm when everyone was almost gone or leaving and we had the entire area to ourselves! Banff stays light late so there was no problems there. We ate at Chucks Steakhouse back in downtown banff for dinner and it was perfect! They gave us 1 free champagne each to celebrate. Brazen would be another good choice. For either, make a reservation!

Best tip for proposing in Banff

-There will be multiple photoshoots around at most locations, especially more well known lakes. -Don't be afraid to ask your photographer for help! They most likely have no problem giving suggestions. - Don't rush through your shoot! Have fun with it. I wish I would have taken it in more after the proposal.

We actually met at work a few months prior to matching on a dating app. We both thought each other cute, but never had the guts to ask the other out. We work in a large hospital, so I rarely saw until then. When we met, we immediately clicked. The chemistry was amazing and she quickly became my best friend. I knew she was the one because I could not make any plans in the future that did not involve her.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I have been to Banff and Lake Louise before and found the whole area stunning. A few years later I brought Christine to teach her how to snowboard and see the scenery. Little did she know I had other plans...

What is your proposal story?

The day before the photoshoot, I took her on a hike around Lake Louise. We are both shy, so I wanted the proposal to be intimate, without the photographer. Unfortunately there were too many tourists, so I took her on another hike on the mountain. She was tired and a bit annoyed at me, but the amazing view made her forget everything. That's where I got down on my knee. She said yes! We met with Carly the next day to immortalize the engagement.

Best tip for proposing in Banff

Lots to do, many nice places to eat. However, a car is almost mandatory to get to all the nice views. Banff has all the hotels and restaurants, and is easy to get around. If you decide to stay in Lake Louise for the view and charm, be warned that there are not many options for food, and you may have to eat at the hotel every day, which can get quite expensive.

We met in high school but we lost touch after graduation. We reconnected on social media after Courtney had moved away. Once she moved back, we started to spend more time together. About four years after that, we started dating. That was over SIX years ago.

The views!!

Courtney thought that the photographer was just another tourist taking pictures. As soon as she saw the box, she started crying and never actually answered the question. In the back of her mind she was thinking 'we need to give this girl our email address so she can email us the pictures' and was so surprised to find out that she was hired to be there.

What is your love story?

We met in college at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in 2015. It was sophomore year. First semester we had Accounting 201 together but we never spoke and sat on complete opposite sides of the room. Jake caught my eye but I never did anything about it until..... Months go by, that class comes to an end, and second semester rolls around. Coincidentally we were placed in Accounting 202 together yet once again months go by. It was April of 2015, there were 3 weeks left in the year, and finals were approaching. One night I was out at a party and spotted him from across the room. I recognized him from BOTH classes and was intending on talking to him until the cops showed up and the party was busted. A few days later I find myself thinking about him and who he was. I went onto our online class list and searched every single guy on facebook until I found him. One night I sent him a friend request and thankfully he accepted pretty quickly. Then I thought to myself - well, now what do I do? So, I messaged him a simple "Hey" and we hit it off instantly. The rest was history. -Kelli

This was a destination we had been dying to go to for a long time. The beauty of Moraine lake was out of this world and once I knew we were going there I knew that would be the perfect place to propose to Kelli. -Jake

What is your love story?

We met when we were working in France and we were only colleagues back in the time, but more and more we had some feelings for each others. This part of our story was only the beginning of something bigger as we decided to move to Canada in 2017 and we could not be happier now ! As I explained to a friend, I didn't know she was the one, I felt it, and the first time I said to a very close friend that I was going to propose to her, It became "real" and i could not have been happier and more in love with her !

What made you choose this proposal destination?

I choose this destination because it was the place which have the most significant meaning for me as we moved to Canada in 2017. we are both animated by nature, hiking and fresh air so the lake Louise and BANFF was the perfect vacation destination and perfect place to do my proposal

What is your proposal story?

It went perfectly well ! apart the fact I was suuuuuuuper nervous and stressed, it went very well. Lyndsay was exactly where she told me, the scenario was great, we played our role perfectly and Gwen (my fiancee) didn't felt something was going to happen I planned to say some words just before my proposal but the only thing I was able to say is "veux tu m'epouser" (will you marry me in french), and to ne honest, it was enough ! haha All the photo-shoot was super super smooth and great, we had such a great time with Lyndsay :)
