Meet SARAH in Virginia Beach

New to Flytographer!

Hi, I'm Sarah! If you've ever looked at a camera and frozen up a little, you're exactly who I love working with. Feeling a bit nervous is completely normal, and a few minutes in, you'll forget I'm even there. I photograph families, couples, and expecting mamas, and my style is soft, bright, and a little dreamy. I want your photos to still feel like you years from now. If you're bringing little ones, don't worry one bit. Kids do their own thing and it always turns out sweet, and I've got tricks for even the shyest toddler. I love living on the coast, and I know the prettiest spots and the best light. We'll go somewhere that feels special, and I'll walk you through all of it. You don't need to know how to pose; that's my job. You just show up and have fun. Can't wait to meet you!

Favourite Place to Shoot: Virginia Beach...I shoot here because I live here. This is home. I know the light, the best spots, and where to go when the popular places get crowded. And I love being able to show people the parts of Virginia Beach I love most.

Three Things

  1. I think I just don't want to forget any of it. My own kids are growing up so fast and half the time the moments I want to remember are the small ones, not the big posed ones. So that's kind of what I shoot for other people too. My style is on the lighter, softer side, sort of film-inspired, because that's just what I'm drawn to. And I genuinely like people, so I think that comes through. Most of my clients end up feeling more like friends by the end.
  2. My sessions are relaxed but I'll guide you the whole way. I'll put you in good light and give you little things to do together, so there's some posing, but you're not going to be standing there frozen. Most of the time you're really just being yourselves and I'm catching it. We'll move around, talk, let the kids be kids, and I'll fix little things as we go. If you're worried you won't know what to do, that's most people, and steering you is my job. Everybody loosens up pretty quick. I shoot lifestyle, so it's more about how you actually are together than perfect poses.
  3. One thing I recommend you do while here is visit First Landing State Park, hands down. It's right here but doesn't feel busy at all, and it's beautiful in the morning. Then go eat at Bobos Fine Chicken. It's my favorite local spot, and the food is so good.
