Meet Ayako in Tokyo
Local Japanese photographer who knows the best hidden gems in town! My work has been featured in Harper's Bazaar, the New York Times, the Guardian and various other magazines and publications. I am very good at giving guidance on posing so you look nice and relaxed. I’m punctual and I always have a backup plan in case of rain. I have twin daughters and also am an attention to detail person - I pay extra attention to hair, makeup malfunctions etc... It's my job to make sure you look your best! My ultimate goal is finding natural, love-filled moments and preserving memories that are anything but staged. You will treasure these photos for years to come and you'll even have some serious fun in the process!

Favourite Place to Shoot: Shinjuku, because shoots there can incorporate both the city and the wonderful nature in Shinjuku Gyoen park. The park is huge so something is always blooming!
Three Things
- I love taking visitors on food tours in Tokyo and sharing lists of my favorite places to eat!
- I can not live without nuts! I have a weakness for pecans, cashew nuts and pistachios. 😋
- I was a stand-up comedian in NYC - I have a host of tricks up my sleeve to ease even the most camera-shy person!
More Information
Ayako is open to travelling anywhere in Japan for additional travel fees, please inquire about availability and a quote. If you have babies or small children, Ayako recommends booking 60 minutes or longer.

Ayako is the best photographer and person ever! She helped me plan my proposal with her knowledge of Tokyo and my personal preferences weeks before the actual date. Then the day before the shoot, she warned me about the weather conditions and helped me reschedule to a better time. The actual day ended up being perfect thanks to the change! For entire photo shoot, Ayako kindly guided us through poses and even explained the area that we were doing the photo shoot in. She even gave us a gift at the end to celebrate my engagement. The entire experience was way better than I could ever imagine and it was all thanks to Ayako!
