Meet Bekki in Scottsdale

Creating beautiful photographs for people brings me so much joy! I always leave my sessions feeling just a little better about the world. I'm intrigued simply by what is happening organically. Catching natural moments between connected souls is my favourite thing. After all, that is all that will matter when we look back at our images. I then try to frame those "real" moments in a beautiful and captivating way and always try to make sure that my images tell a story.

    Favourite Place to Shoot: I love shooting in the desert because of the beautiful golden sunlight, sage green cactus, and the tiny dust particles that pick up bits of red/orange glowy light. It’s spectacular.

Three Things

  1. I started my career in front of the camera as a commercial model. Modeling throughout the United States, Europe and South Africa granted me a great opportunity to see the world and learn from other photographers. However, never feeling entirely comfortable in front of the camera and being desperate for a hamburger, I retired from modeling to pursue a degree in Fine Art and Photography.
  2. When I'm not photographing I love hiking in the mountains with our silver lab and watching my kids grow. I'm a self taught pianist, thanks to YouTube tutorials and love meeting up for "book club", which is really just a wine-drinking club that reads occasionally.
  3. As a young model, I got the opportunity to shoot with famed Guess Jeans photographer, Ellen von Unwerth in NYC. Unfortunately the images were not used for a high fashion editorial spread, but rather an article about cellulite.

Bekki was absolutely incredible! She was communicative beforehand, memorized all of our names, and was so patient and easygoing. We had a multi-generational family and she worked incredibly well with everyone, even our toddler. We love our photos and would recommend her to anyone coming to Scottsdale.

Bekki was fantastic! We made the connection that we're actually from the same town in Massachusetts which was a great "small world" connection. She had excellent communication throughout the whole process and helped guide recommending spots that were close to us but in good condition (there was a ton of rain the week before that washed out some spots). Very fast turnaround on the photos and she even helped photoshop out the snacks my toddler was munching on (to keep him happy during the shoot). Highly recommend Bekki!
