I am a German photographer who came to Mexico for love and never went back. My photography style is natural, happy and imperfectly perfect. What I love the most about photographing people is that I get to be a tiny part of their story and to capture real emotions and special moments. My work has been published in books, magazines and blogs worldwide and you can even find my image on the cover of a Lonely Planet Guidebook.

    Favourite Place to Shoot: I love the little alleys around Lavaderos de Chorro. They are colorful, quaint and have such charm. Each corner offers new opportunities for beautiful, happy photos.

Three Things

  1. I believe that what makes a photographer unique is not necessarily how they photograph, but how they connect with people. I am genuinely interested in my client's story, get along super good with children of all ages and can adapt quickly to what a certain person needs. Sometimes that means being more outgoing and giving more direction, at other times it's best to just document how the session unfolds.
  2. In the very best case I feel like that long-lost friend that you re-encountered in San Miguel and decided to capture you and your loved ones. I want you to laugh, to have fun and most importantly, to be yourself. The end result are natural, happy and imperfectly perfect pictures of you.
  3. My favourite time of the day in San Miguel is the early morning, when the city is slowly waking up. The light is beautifully golden, colors are crisp, the streets are empty and seem straight from a fairy-tale. Then I love to wander around and end up at a coffee shop with a strong coffee and a freshly baked pastry in hand.

We had an amazing experience with Carolin! The pictures turned out amazing. I had a few requests of what I wanted and she delivered on all of them plus more! We also had a baby and a small hiccup the day of our original photoshoot date and Caroline was so accommodating and understanding. She was great with our one year old baby and it was a fun experience. We will cherish these pictures for years to come! Thank you Carolin!

We really enjoyed working with Carolin! She was so sweet, showed up to our location (home) and found great photo ops throughout the space. She was really helpful with directing us to interesting poses and the photos turned out great. We have a 6 month old baby and Carolin was thoughtful about incorporating her into the shoot before she got too tired, and was able to get her to pay attention and smile!

Carolin was AMAZING! She is very personable and so easy to connect with so taking photos seemed so easy and natural - the hour session flew by! We debated doing a shoot on our family vacation and do not regret at all - we absolutely love our photos and highly recommend Carolin!
