Meet Doug in Paris

New to Flytographer!

As an American photographer in Paris, I am really easy-going and love meeting and working with new people and I'm a foodie and wine lover at heart. If I'm not out taking pictures, I'm on my road bike dreaming of what it would be like to ride in the Tour de France :) As cliche as this may sound, I truly love capturing moments and emotions and creating photographs that make people feel something when they look at the image. I try to match my style to the personality of my clients. If they're really loud and outgoing, I can match that energy. If they're quiet and nervous in front of the camera, I've been told I have a calming presence and can gently guide them through poses. I've been lucky to have a varied photography career, starting as a photojournalist where I won several AP awards and the New York Times Chairmans award for documentary photography. I also spent 3 years working for Sports Illustrated photography. As a wedding photographer I've been published in most of the major publications, but I take greater satisfaction in having my prints displayed in people's homes.

Three Things

  1. I love spending time with my wife and our dog by having picnics and watching the world go by in this amazing city of Paris. I spent a few semesters in culinary school before moving to Paris so I also love cooking and going to amazing restaurants. And believe it or not, I'm more of a Swiftie than my wife :)
  2. One thing I can't live without is my wife. (and my bike:)
  3. My friends tell me I sometimes am too organized and over-plan, but then they love it when things go perfect as a result of my organization. Some people say I resemble my dog Toulouse - he's a whippet so he's kinda tall and skinny :)
