Meet Maurice in Chicago

My photography style is a mix of fine art, storytelling, and a little editorial edge. At the heart of it, I want your photos to feel real, full of candid emotions, authentic moments, and just the right amount of style. Think timeless, but with a touch of flair that makes the images uniquely yours. I’m born & based in Chicago but work worldwide wherever the story takes me. Most days you’ll find me shooting fashion, lifestyle and branding, and editorial weddings. I also bring that same creative energy into my work with couples and families. Whether it’s a campaign, a portrait, or a wedding day, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel effortless, stylish, and unforgettable.

Favourite Place to Shoot: My Favourite Place to Shoot: It's so hard to choose just one in this beautiful city! Some of my favorites are the outside gardens of the Art Institute in the warmer months, the Wells Street Bridge on the Chicago Riverwalk, the hidden gem that is Lakeshore East Park, Union Station, the Cancer Survivor's Garden in Maggie Daley Park, and North Avenue Beach.

Three Things

  1. I love photography because it allows me to preserve moments that people wish they could relive forever. There’s something powerful about turning real emotion into something timeless, a work of art meant to help us remember the most important parts of our journey. My style blends editorial elegance with genuine, unscripted moments. So your photos don’t just look beautiful, they feel like your story.
  2. A shoot with me feels relaxed, natural, and effortless. I’ll guide you when needed so you never feel unsure, but I’m also creating space for real moments to unfold organically. Most clients tell me it feels less like a photoshoot and more like exploring the city with someone who just happens to be capturing them at their best. My approach is what I call "Editorial Realism". A blend of refined, editorial direction and real unscripted moments. The result is imagery that feels elevated, but still completely true to you.
  3. I always recommend experiencing an architecture cruise along the Chicago Riverwalk at sunset. The way the light reflects off the architecture, the movement of the city, and the energy along the water creates an atmosphere that feels uniquely Chicago and makes for an unforgettable experience. Not to mention the incredible of history of some of Chicago's most iconic buildings, it's definitely a must do.

Had such a fun time shooting with Maurice! We hit all the notable spots on the Riverwalk - getting photos with the Wrigley, the Jeweler's building, Chicago River, and on a bridge. The photos turned out great and we will cherish them as we look back on our time in Chicago.
