My style is a mixture of portraiture, details and emotions as they are what makes every experience different. I love telling your story through my photos. It is such an honour to capture couples, proposals, pregnancy announcments and family memories in our Rockies. I've been photographer for 20 years and I am still excited every time I met I am a natural light photographer who loves airy and candid photos. I want to give you works of art that communicates the essence of who you are, tells the story beyond what you see, and to give you valuable memories.

    Favourite Place to Shoot: Lake Minnewanka, Upper Kananaskis Lakes or Canmore are the best for scenic photos of the Rocky Mountains and magnificent nature as your background. They are also much less crowded but as beautiful as Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. However, my absolute favourite is Upper Kananaskis Lake and Peyto Lake!

Three Things

  1. I love photography because it allows me to preserve emotions that people never want to forget. A proposal last a moment, but photographs let you relive those feelings for generations. My goal is not just to take beautiful photos, but to capture the connection, excitement, nervous smiles, happy tears, and the atmosphere of the day exactly as it felt.
  2. A photoshoot with me feels very natural and relaxed. Most of my couples tell me at the beginning that they feel awkward in front of the camera, and by the end they are laughing, enjoying the experience, and forgetting the camera is even there. I gently guide you the entire time while still allowing real moments and emotions to unfold naturally.
  3. One thing I always recommend people experience while visiting Calgary and the Canadian Rockies is slowing down enough to truly enjoy the mountains at sunrise or sunset. Whether it’s watching the first light hit Moraine Lake, canoeing on Lake Louise, or simply standing beside a quiet lake in Kananaskis Country, there’s something incredibly peaceful and unforgettable about it. My home is Mediterranean and I moved to six months of winter with my husband.

Maia was amazing to work with! She responded very promptly, even though my communications were way ahead of schedule. She shared good ideas for photo shoot locations and everything else to do with the big day. It was very evident that Maia also cared very much about the important day we had, and that it turned out perfect for us... even when I mistakenly thought the photos were happen on the wrong day. Would highly recommend Maia!

I cannot say enough good things about Maia! She was so patient and kind throughout our entire session. My fiance and I have never taken professional photos before so we needed a lot of guidance! Maia provided that and our pictures ended up absolutely perfect. I am so thankful for her and her skill. She is a true artist and visionary. I really hope we can meet again when we return to Canada!
