Travel Story

Venice was pretty high on our bucket list due to climate change, so when we were planning our big trip for 2019, we knew exactly where we wanted to go. We decided to go over our 2nd anniversary, certainly a reason to celebrate and in one of the most romantic cities in the world. After doing much research, we felt the prices were more affordable and the crowds would not be as aggressive in early November. It's ironic we were there over some of the worst floods Venice has seen in the past 50 years--and these pictures were taken mere hours before the first big one of the 2019 "acqua alta" season.

Travel Tips

Do plenty of research before your trip (YouTube is a great source for even the most random inquiries), but don't plan too much in advance. This is a very fun city to just walk around and be spontaneous. When planning your itinerary, make sure you are crossing off your "must sees" and "must dos" by neighborhood, this way you're not running around all over the city trying to do everything at once. I definitely recommend getting the Venice City Pass, as you can pay a fair price for access to plenty of museums, lots of different packages to fit your needs and budget.
