Route: Bukchon Hanok Village, Seoul, Korea
Travel Story
My trip to Seoul was inspired by a mix of curiosity and craving—curiosity to explore the fast-paced, modern-meets-traditional culture of South Korea, and a craving for authentic Korean food. I’ve always been fascinated by the energy of cities like Tokyo and LA, and Seoul had that same buzz with its own unique twist. One of my favorite memories was walking through Bukchon Hanok Village at sunset. The contrast of centuries-old hanok houses with the city skyline in the background was surreal. Another highlight was eating freshly grilled galbi and kimchi stew at a small local restaurant in Hongdae, surrounded by laughter, sizzling sounds, and good vibes. The trip was the perfect mix of tradition, tech, style, and of course—amazing food. Seoul definitely lived up to the hype!
Travel Tips
If you’re heading to Seoul, come hungry and curious—it’s a city that rewards both. One of my absolute favorite spots to eat was Tosokchon Samgyetang, famous for its ginseng chicken soup. It’s incredibly comforting and packed with flavor—plus, the traditional hanok setting adds to the experience. For something trendier, Anthracite Coffee in Hannam was a cool, industrial-style café with seriously good brews. As for must-do activities, start with Gyeongbokgung Palace—go early to catch the changing of the guard. Then, lose yourself in the artsy streets of Ikseon-dong, full of hidden shops and cafes. If you’re into fashion or people-watching, Garosugil in Sinsa is your place. And of course, no trip is complete without a night out in Hongdae or Itaewon—whether you’re into karaoke, street food, or rooftop bars. Bonus tip: take the subway—it’s clean, fast, and super easy to navigate. And if you can, learn a few basic Korean phrases. The locals really appreciate it!
