Travel Story
My girls are finally at the ages where you can travel with them and they can understand and appreciate the history, architecture and culture within the city. Frequent trips to London to visit family were always fun, but it was time to venture further afield and our 3 week Mediterranean Odyssey was born. Rome was our first stop and she did not disappoint! It's never easy to capture the entire group in a photo without the help from a stranger or passersby and usually that comes with a few extra people in the shot you don't really want. I wanted to capture the special memories of our multi-generational girls trip in a special way and hiring a professional photographer seemed a great way to commemorate the occasion. Roberta did a wonderful job of capturing the essence of Rome without all the crowds and taking us to some off the beaten path locations to capture some unique opportunities.
Travel Tips
You really can't go wrong with food in Rome. The best pizza and gelato of our whole trip was in Rome - and that is saying something. In our 2 short days we managed to hit all the highlights, but we will be back to explore the city in more detail - guaranteed. There is no reason to stand in any line at the top attractions - skip the line tours always provide the best value with the least amount of stress and long lines. Don't ever just show up and buy a ticket to go in, even if you are on a budget. Such a waste of money to pay the entrance fee and not have a guide to tell you all the back story and history behind what you are seeing.
