I had been on two short trips to Paris before, but as a high school student and a college student. At first, I wasn't completely psyched about going back, but I wanted my husband to experience the City of Lights. What I realized during the trip is that visiting Paris with your true love is a very different experience! We loved wandering tucked-away streets and looking for the perfect gift for a loved one or a new macaron flavor to try (pastimes less possible as a student!), and oohing over the incredible details in the buildings.
Travel Tips
Definitely stay in a quieter neighborhood, so you can truly experience living in Paris! We were in Le Marais district, which had a lot to see but was also well-placed on the metro for collecting all of the typical Parisian tourist sites. Our favorite day trip was actually to Monet's gardens and house in Giverny, a perfect follow-up to a morning at Musee de l'Orangerie! Best meal? Page 35. Best macaron? Pierre Herme. Best cocktail? Gatsby. Best museum? L'Atelier des Lumieres. Best tourist attraction? Wine tasting at Ô Chateau!
