Travel Story

My fiance, Tom, and I had been living in London for the past two years. We had moved from Canada to London after Tom’s Canadian visa expired. We made a plan to apply for Canadian permanent residency so that we could one return back to Canada to settle down. Well Tom’s permanent residency was finally approved and my two-year visa was coming to an end, so it was time to get packing! A few days before we left, we decided to book a Flytographer shoot in Notting Hill. We chose Notting Hill as it is really close to where we lived and I have also always loved it for all of its colourful streets and quirky shops. I thought it would be the perfect place to take some pictures and maybe even get a ‘Save the Date’ worthy shot.

Travel Tips

When in Notting Hill you have to head to Portobello Road as it's a feast for the eyes! It is lined with colourful, quirky shops and cafes. During the day it turns into a full-on marketplace which changes based on the day of the week. Be sure to wander down some of the side streets as they often have rows of bright multi-coloured houses. The Biscuiteers is the cutest biscuit shop you have ever laid eyes on. The exterior is black and white and the interior is full of perfectly iced biscuits in all shapes and sizes. You can even book icing classes with them. If you are a fan of the film Notting Hill, you can go see set locations like the blue door, the bookshop and Tony’s restaurant.
