We were in Hawaii 20 years ago for our honeymoon and wanted to bring our 13 year old to experience the island. I thought a honeymoon on Oahu was great but nothing compares to experiencing it through the eyes of your child. My favorite memories of this trip will be everything, but renting a car a seeing the North Shore is the best memory. We tour the small shops, ate from food trucks, and saw the famous pipeline. I can’t wait to come back and hopefully it will not be another 20 years.
Travel Tips
I highly recommend seeing the whole island. Travel to the North Shore to see their way of life, the little shops, and the famous pipeline. Make sure you eat an açaí bowl, shaved ice with cream, and eat from the food trucks. We also visited Pearl Harbor which is a great history lesson for kids.
