Travel Story
We originally chose Hawaii for our honeymoon but the eruption of the volcano changed our destination to the Caribbean azure waters of Grand Cayman. I dreamed of a beach wedding so the images that Tanya captured of our love was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted seclusion and to feel like we were off the beaten path. We booked a villa in Rum Point and met the owner of Crazy Crab Cayman for a private boat charters to play with the stingrays and starfish. The behind the scenes feeling and immersion with nature was one we will always remember. We arrived as guests on the private charter and left as friends. We captured drone footage of stingray city and kayaking in the bioluminescence bay. Each experience was a new one for us and one that will be everlasting.
Travel Tips
Our favorite restaurant was Cracked Conch on the west side of the island. Overlooking the Caribbean waters on the deck as the sun was setting was breathtaking. Nick the waiter gave us very detailed descriptions of the signature dishes that we ordered. It was all mouthwatering with VIP service. Our top activity was Troy's company, Crazy Crab private boat charters. Mandy our marine biologist guide taught us so many different things about the stingrays that we would have never learned. We felt we were part of the discovery channel not just watching it, but immersed in it. Jaco our other guide made us feel so comfortable frolicking with the stingray in the ocean. One pound of squid is allowed per boat so we each had more to feed the stingray and time to learn about them than the boats with more people. Definitely experience the nature that Cayman Islands have to offer.
