Travel Story

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a food and wine tour of beautiful Tuscany. Florence was our first stop, and we fell in love. It is such a beautiful city with amazing sites everywhere you look. We were so fortunate because it had been raining every day for weeks. Our photographer, Ellie, helped us plan the perfect time and places for our shoot, and the rain cleared. The 6:00 AM wakeup call was worth it to get the Palazzo Vecchio almost to ourselves! We walked the area and found cute alleys, fabulous outdoor museums, and famous bridges to use as backdrops for our pictures. It was a wonderful experience!

Travel Tips

Our tour began in Florence where we took a cooking class and came away with new skills and a recipe for delicious tiramisu. We shopped until we dropped and toured the Duomo and the Accademia Gallery to view the incredible statue of David. Hint: if you plan to do this, get your tickets MONTHS in advance to skip the line and avoid spending literal hours in line. Go early in the morning. We left Florence to tour the Tuscan countryside and visit amazing wineries and beautiful, little medieval towns, We visited Siena, San Gimignano, and Montalcino. As we entered the Umbrian region, we visited Cortona, Perugia and Assisi among others. We ended our tour in Rome where we scrambled to see a few sites we visited last year but loved and had to see again. We had the best food and wine we've ever tasted! Our photo shoot was the start of a once in a lifetime trip.
