Travel Story

My boyfriend had never traveled to Europe, but loved Germany and the German language since he first took courses in high school. We decided our first trip to Europe together should focus on Germany, and we conveniently got a great deal on flights just around the start of Oktoberfest. We spent a week roadtripping across the German and Czech Republic countryside, making stops in Munich, Prague and Berlin (our favorite!). We loved exploring intricate cathedrals, and walking down quaint cobblestone streets in between stops to grab espresso or peruse bookshops and local markets.

Travel Tips

Check out Mr. Susan, a cocktail bar in the Mitte. Excellent cocktails in a classic and gorgeously decorated mid-century modern basement bar. We loved visiting local artist markets at various squares around town, and making a visit to Wilde Renate for a night of amazing techno music! Try renting a bike for a day to maximize your time in the Berlin sunshine- the city is flat and perfect for a casual and fun ride to all the sites you want to see. My must-see museum is the Jewish Museum, a true story told through architecture of German culture with and without Jews before, during and after Nazi Germany rule.
