What are the best places to eat and drink in Tokyo?

Favorite Restaurant is actually Uogashi Nihonichi Shinjuku West Entrance, a standing sushi bar. I randomly walked up on this place exploring Tokyo by myself and it was a really cool way to eat sushi.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

The Shinjuku Garden is very nice, go to Takeshita Street to get some awesome sweets and crazy cotton candy. I’d suggest a Shinjuku Life After 5 Tour, I went through Airbnb, for a nightlife and izakya food tour hosted by a local (he bought us a bottle of whiskey after learning we got engaged the same day). Champion Bar is very cool experience where you can pop a balloon to see what drink you get. Lastly, Tokyo Disney Sea.

Allan's Travel Tips for Tokyo

What are the best places to eat and drink in Tokyo?

DAWN Avatar Robot Cafe. The cafe employs those who are disabled or physical challenged to work a normal job. I think it's a great concept because it helps give them a voice and means to earn a living who would otherwise not be able to. The employees operate robots from the comfort of their home remotely to serve customers who come to the cafe. My family had a great time connecting and conversing with all our servers.

It was very affordable compare to other cruise or sight seeing bus tour too. I would do it again when I go back!

Sushi Midori in the Ginza corridor was amazing! It was affordable but INCREDIBLE sushi. There is a long wait and you get a ticket so you know when your number is called. But it's so worth it! I understand why there is always a wait and we are so glad we had the opportunity to go!

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

TeamLab is such a unique experience. We were so excited to get tickets while we were there. It's a truly immersive art experience. We love to visit the Shinjuku Golden Gai and spend the evening there. There are so many hidden food spots and one of our favorite bars to visit- Albatross (as seen on Anthony Bourdain.) The Tokyo Sky Tree is such a fun way to see the entire city. And there were so many beautiful parks! Ueno-koen, Hibiya Park, Yoyogi Park by Meiji shrine and Takeshita St, Koishikawa Korakuen and Shinjuku Goygen. If you have time, make the day trip to Lake Yamakaguchi for a view of Mount Fuji. It was a once in a lifetime trip!

What is the best tip for a romantic getaway in Tokyo?

It's so romantic to visit Tokyo during the holidays. In the Ginza where we stayed, they had so many lights and holiday decorations. It was so beautiful walking around and seeing all the holiday window displays. If you do any shopping, they often have special Japan only gifts you may be surprised with, if you make a purchase. Make sure to book Flytographer if you go! That was a highlight of our trip together.
