Taipei’s cityscape might be dominated by one of the tallest buildings in the world, but you can’t just appreciate seeing the city’s skyline or Taipei 101 itself from high in an observation deck. Get some fresh air and an unbeatable view from just city’s edge. Taking the metro’s red line all the way to its end leads to the base of Xiangshan or Elephant Mountain. From there, just a short hike will lead to some incredible views and photos of the city that include Taipei 101 rising high in the urban jungle like the bamboo stalk it was built to resemble.
