David's Travel Tips for Stockholm

What are the best places to eat and drink in Stockholm?

We hit a few great restaurants while we were in Stockholm, our craziest experience was at Punk Royale which I would best describe as the anti-establishment version of fine dining. It's loud, unconventional, and a lot of fun with some great food and drinks along the way! Another great place for a drink, a meal, or for Fika is Fotografiska. Check out some great photo exhibits then head to the restaurant or the bistro for some great food and drink. We also hit Freyja + Soder for some fun cocktails and delicious food in a very modern space with great views of Stockholm.

What are the best things to do in Stockholm?

It was great to soak in the beautiful architecture of the city, especially around Gamla Stan. There's a great food scene around Stockholm as well, from the classics to more modern options. The food halls are a great way to sample different options. We had dinner at Lisa Elmqvist in Ostermalms Food Hall and also checked out Hotorgshallen for more international and seafood options.

What is the best tip for a romantic getaway in Stockholm?

Exploring the small streets around Gamla Stan and finding small cafes or restaurants can be a great way to feel more insulated from the activity of greater Stockholm.

What is your best overall travel tip for Stockholm?

If you are vegan / vegetarian or just like good food, you must go to Herman’s for the vegetarian buffet lunch. The views are great too. Masala Masala in Odenplan has a great vegan menu as well as non vegan. The restaurant is very small, so book a table. Love the Vasamuseet and the ABBA Muaeun. Top tip, get a Travelcard and Stockholm Pass.

Bryce's Travel Tips for Stockholm

What is your best overall travel tip for Stockholm?

I love to journal about my trip and record the days events, but it's not always easy to find that "perfect" spot. I was wandering around Gamla Stan, which is certainly an area known for being touristy, when I found Cosy Cafe. Not only did they have a great variety of tempting desserts, there is a little upstairs area that overlooks the cafe. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of hot tea and journal! The Vasa Museum is also not to be missed. It houses an intact and preserved 17th century ship that is a sight to behold. There are various exhibits around the museum that give more insight into the way the ship was constructed, daily life on the ship, etc. With gardens, restaurants and another museum only steps away, you could easily spend all day here. If seafood is what you're looking for, look no further than Sturehof. The food was delicious and despite being a busy place, the waitstaff was very patient in answering all of our questions to make sure each diner got a meal that they would enjoy.

What is your best overall travel tip for Stockholm?

We had so much fun with Linda in Gamla Stan, Stockholm! She made it so easy to relax and feel comfortable when she took pictures of us. Top tip: Start a little early to avoid crowds, if going to gorgeous Gamla Stan, as the streets are quite narrow.
