If you're there for the holiday season, the boat parade down the Columbia River is awesome! We had dinner at a restaurant right on the water and could watch all the light up and decorated boats float by. We also never miss an opportunity to ski on Mt Hood if the snow is good.

Outside of Portland in Sandy we visited a great little food truck called Breakfast in the Hood. Food was wonderful and filling. Highly recommend if you like breakfast foods.

Voodoo Donuts- kind of a right of passage. Blue Star has some better flavors, though. Shirley's Tippy Canoe- a little dive bar/restaurant outside of Portland. The atmosphere was great and food is awesome. Shirley is funny and definitely loves what she does. Huber's- The oldest restaurant in Portland. Famous for Spanish Coffee's and Turkey Dinners. I am definitely glad that we booked a couple of day tours through Hub World Travel. These really helped us to see a lot of places that I wouldn't have though to visit and the guides were really friendly and knowledgeable about the places. Worth every penny.
