Highly recommend a boat tour of the Phi Phi Islands with V. Marine Tour Phuket. Our guide on the private boat was Milan, he and the crew with him were amazing.
I would recommend chartering a long boat for the day and going to the various islands. The islands of Thailand are beautiful!
We have found flights to/from Phuket are always early morning or late night. I recommend to stay close to Mai Khao for the first few nights or the night before departure. We have stayed at a couple of hotels in the past, but have found Splash Jungle is a great hit with the kids -- water slide park and hotel!
