What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

Les Cocottes by Christian Constant was a cute and delicious little restaurant we found one night.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Musée de l'Orangerie is my favourite museum in Paris! The floor to ceiling Monet Water Lilies are incredible. Musée Marmottan Monet was also a wonderful one.

What is the best tip for a romantic getaway in Paris?

Early morning walks along the Seine are wonderful, of course! It also felt quite romantic to walk along the streets in the evening and pick a little restaurant based on what caught your eye in the moment, rather than strictly following reservations.

Lauryl's Travel Tips for Paris

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

“Bouillon” was a great restaurant, something for everyone including kids. And extremely reasonably priced. We also loved “the New York” for a great view of the Eiffel Tower in the trees. Easy to walk across the street for the perfect view. Food and service was also great.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Big Bus hop on and off was a great way to see all the things. My entire family loved it (kids aged 10+ too!). Arc de Triomph has the best views. Worth it to go up there vs Eiffel Tower! We loved to wander the less crowded streets and see the local, independent shops vs the very busy souvenir shops that basically all sold the same things.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Good to know that public washrooms basically don’t exist. You can use them at restaurants if you’re buying something. Most washrooms are TINY and are located in basements, some cost €1/person. Keep that in mind with kids!

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

We have some fabulous meals while in Paris, but our absolute MUST go to again, would be Carette … everything from start to finish was perfect. The table set up, the service and of course the food and drinks were all fabulous and we can’t wait to go back !! Also, it was our fave croissant of our trip !!

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Of course we loved the Eiffel Tower. We went to the top, took macaroons that we bought from the second floor, and had champagne at the top !! The Louvre was an absolute must for us and we hired a tour guide. This was for sure the biggest reason we enjoyed it as much as we did. Our guide was fantastic and shared so many stories and ‘unknown’ facts throughout the tour. We loved listening through the earbuds while looking at the art. It was a real highlight for us ! We went out of the city to Versailles and would go back again, we enjoyed our day so much. We highly recommend taking an entire day for this experience. We rented a golf cart to tour the gardens and we also rented a row boat and went up and down the Grand Canal. LOVED this so much !! The only thing we didn’t do (due to time) was rent bikes and we will for sure go back again and do this !! It was a fabulous day !!

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

We didn’t have kids on our trip.

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

My friends and I enjoyed our evening at Le Square Trousseau in the Bastille neighborhood. We sat on the terrace with a perfect view of the park and shared everything - appetizers, mains, desserts. The menu at this elegant bistro has something for everyone and both the food and cocktails were delicious!

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Some of our favorite activities were the Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Catacombs of Paris and Montparnasse Cemetery. The City of Lights is so walkable! Make sure to build time into your schedule for not only strolling past the famous landmarks, but also discovering lesser known boutiques, cafés and brasseries.

Laperouse was an incredible experience. The service was fantastic and the food incredible. Definitely a special moment in Paris.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Moulin Rouge late show was actually amazing and super fun, don't miss it just because it's touristy. Do miss going to the top of the Eiffel Tower (not necessary), the Seine River Tour by Green River cruises is amazing! Be sure to bring charcuterie and wine. Paris is most well seen just walking around and enjoying. Rue Montorgueil is awesome place to enjoy a terrass and Montmartre in late afternoon or early evening is great.

Cafe vino sapiens was a wonderful wine bar near the Eiffel Tower. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Great atmosphere.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Honestly, my favorite activity was eating all of the food near our hotel, which was the Hotel du Cadran. There was a produce market with the most amazing strawberries I’ve ever had. There was a boulangerie with amazing fondant chocolate. There were many restaurants to choose from. It was a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. My group also loved the show at the Moulin Rouge and the catacombs tour.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

We loved just walking around Tuilleries and allowing the kids to be kids. It was great to take this breather between scheduled activities multiple times throughout our vacation. The lesser known destinations were also a huge hit and didn't require advanced planning - the Aquarium, the Marine museum and more.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Throw the schedule out the window! Kids are more resilient than you think and will adjust better when you're a little more go with the flow. Its ok to have lunch at dinner time and dinner at bedtime and it works - you're on vacation!

Rebecca's Travel Tips for Paris

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

Pres de Seine was a wonderful recommendation from a friend. A lovely short walk from the river, the environment was charming, the service flawless, and every meal was superb. We even considered returning a second night! Make yourself a reservation and you won’t be disappointed.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

We started our trip in the very best way - taking in our first Eiffel Tower views from the roof of Printemps Haussman, a beautiful department store with stunning city views. From that point our three kids were very excited about climbing it themselves and it remains a favorite experience. Taking river boat along the Seine is the most enjoyable way to see the city particularly when timed with the sunset. Be sure to not overlook all the stunning parks - particularly Jardin des Tuileries outside of the Louvre where you catch sight of the Arc de Triumph and Jardin du Luxembourg. The charm and slower pace within the bustling city will make for some of your best memories.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

We travelled to Paris with our 3 children ages 7, 6, and 4 in April. Paris is full of opportunity for families to enjoy and with some strategic planning you are sure to create lifelong memories. We found skip the line tickets to be essential and suggest predetermining what’s important to see on the front end of any museum or tour you do as to keep the experience exciting and brief enough that energy stays high. Thanks to all the wonderful parks in town we were easily able to couple an organized experience with some unstructured play time for our three. My kids still talk about the Carousel du St Pierre and funicular in Montmarte and getting their portraits done by street artists near Notre Dame. Take the trip because the memories even for your littles will last a lifetime.
