Musée de l'Orangerie is my favourite museum in Paris! The floor to ceiling Monet Water Lilies are incredible. Musée Marmottan Monet was also a wonderful one.

Early morning walks along the Seine are wonderful, of course! It also felt quite romantic to walk along the streets in the evening and pick a little restaurant based on what caught your eye in the moment, rather than strictly following reservations.

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

Pres de Seine was a wonderful recommendation from a friend. A lovely short walk from the river, the environment was charming, the service flawless, and every meal was superb. We even considered returning a second night! Make yourself a reservation and you won’t be disappointed.

We started our trip in the very best way - taking in our first Eiffel Tower views from the roof of Printemps Haussman, a beautiful department store with stunning city views. From that point our three kids were very excited about climbing it themselves and it remains a favorite experience. Taking river boat along the Seine is the most enjoyable way to see the city particularly when timed with the sunset. Be sure to not overlook all the stunning parks - particularly Jardin des Tuileries outside of the Louvre where you catch sight of the Arc de Triumph and Jardin du Luxembourg. The charm and slower pace within the bustling city will make for some of your best memories.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

We travelled to Paris with our 3 children ages 7, 6, and 4 in April. Paris is full of opportunity for families to enjoy and with some strategic planning you are sure to create lifelong memories. We found skip the line tickets to be essential and suggest predetermining what’s important to see on the front end of any museum or tour you do as to keep the experience exciting and brief enough that energy stays high. Thanks to all the wonderful parks in town we were easily able to couple an organized experience with some unstructured play time for our three. My kids still talk about the Carousel du St Pierre and funicular in Montmarte and getting their portraits done by street artists near Notre Dame. Take the trip because the memories even for your littles will last a lifetime.

Pink Mammas was incredible - all of the food was delicious and the decor is beautiful! I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, otherwise you'll be waiting in a long line for a table.

I absolutely loved Montmartre and an evening champagne and macarons cruise on the Seine.

Make sure you have a backpack with extra snacks, water, and small books/activities packed for children. Also, be sure your child has very comfortable walking shoes as you will be doing a lot of walking in Paris.

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

We visited Liberté for pan au chocolate and espresso every morning. Brasserie Des Prés was our favorite French dinner - you cannot ask for better ambiance (the food was great too!). Our favorite dinner experience was sitting at the bar and watching the chefs at Pink Mamma in Montmartre. This was a surprise discovery and we loved the whole vibe.

We loved the Petite Palais on a rainy afternoon- the perfect place to wander while waiting for the rain to pass. Climbing the Eiffel Tower was a hit for our whole family, and picnicking at Luxembourg Gardens felt like the perfect Parisian afternoon.

Our kiddo loved walking through the Louvre with her own camera. We spent quite a bit of time there and she didn’t tire out from snapping photos. Taking the boat tour from Pont Neuf was another highlight for her, as well as making friends at the playgrounds throughout the city. We made a point to schedule some playground time scattered through our trip and this was a major highlight for her.

The Musée de l'Orangerie was by far our favorite spot this trip; it has a more intimate feeling than some of the other other museums in the city.

Don't over plan your days! You might want to stay at a particular museum longer than you anticipated. You might discover a cool park nearby you want to walk through. The city has beautiful spots tucked around every corner and it's easy to miss them if you're worried about rushing to your next timed entry.
