Musée de l'Orangerie is my favourite museum in Paris! The floor to ceiling Monet Water Lilies are incredible. Musée Marmottan Monet was also a wonderful one.

What is the best tip for a romantic getaway in Paris?

Early morning walks along the Seine are wonderful, of course! It also felt quite romantic to walk along the streets in the evening and pick a little restaurant based on what caught your eye in the moment, rather than strictly following reservations.

Freddy's in Saint Germain! We went back twice during our visit. It's an awesome neighborhood spot for small plates, tucked off the main road. The food is 10/10 and so are the vibes!

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Eiffel Tower Louvre - book a tour through the Louvre website - it was amazing and so helpful to see the highlights and not be overwhelmed with the amount art to be seen.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Lots and lots of patience and flexibility. We used the Metro to get around Paris and it was relatively easy. We did have to carry the stroller down the stairs for the Metro when my 2-year-old was sleeping, but overall the Meto was straightforward to use. When traveling with younger kids, don't book or plan too much for a day. We booked 1-2 things per day just to make sure one of them wasn't overwhelmed or having a rough day. For the rest of the day, we had a list of things we wanted to do, and just added them on as we were able. It overall went well with our 9, 5, and 2-year-olds...and they learned and saw so much of the world!

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

The highlights for my kids were a golf cart rental at Versailles, the Jardins du Luxemboug, which had a playground and a pond with little boats, and being under the Eiffel for its first sparkle of the night at 9 PM (plus impromptu live music). We used the metro & bus system with day passes to avoid so much walking.

Pack less activities, be spontaneous. If you going to any museums, go there 1-2 hrs before closing depending on the size of the museum. We saw Mona Lisa with maybe 20 other visitors because we went to the exhibit 30 mins before closing. It was wonderful!

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

We were able to visit more than I originally thought we would for our family’s first time to Paris and Normandy. With a 7 year old and 14 year old boys, I wasn’t sure about their stamina and the walking, but as long as you schedule some downtime here and there, we were able to do almost everything on our first time bucket list with no problems!

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

We loved wandering through the streets of Paris finding bakeries and gelato. There are so many amazing places.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

We loved going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, viewing Notre Dame, wandering through the Tuileries and by the Louvre and seeing the city at night while having a six course gourmet meal on the Bustronome. We also took the subway to Versailles and picnicked on the grounds. Spectacular!

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Our kids loved Paris! The attractions, tours, and food were amazing. We took the subway when we could or walked but also took Ubers when it was too far to get home or we knew there would be a lot of walking the next day so we didn’t burn out the kids. We also chose a hotel that had a mini kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave so our kids could reheat leftovers since we were very off our normal time zone.

Georgia's Travel Tips for Paris

What are the best places to eat and drink in Paris?

On this trip, our favorite restaurant is a new one inspired by a quirky, fun show about an American in Paris: Emily in Paris. It's called Emily and it's in the 7th arrondissement right next to the Eiffel Tower. The girls (6 and 3) loved the pasta and then mango milkshakes. I loved the Louise mocktail and their take on the beef bourguignon.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

Walking aimlessly and discovering new cafes and shops! Also, enjoying parks and gardens and taking the river bus (Batobus). We will eventually get to experience the museums with the girls when our youngest is a bit older.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Aim to do one major activity in one day with young kiddos! If you get to do more, than that's just fantastic. And of course, pack some light snacks, water, and wipes as they may get thirsty, hungry and/or dirty. Try to pack some paper and crayons and they may want to draw what they see to pass the time while you wait for food or while you're in a park, garden, cafe, train, etc..

Erica's Travel Tips for Paris

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Paris?

Make sure you always have a snack and water for the kids and always know where the nearest public restroom is. We planned one “big” thing every day and then I had other options depending on how we felt. It worked out well that way. Lastly a hotel within 5 minutes of a metro stop is a must. Makes life so much easier!
