Venice Beach was extremely unique. I loved the Abbot Kinney street where you could find all sorts of amazing finds from The Rose Venice beach to other restaurants. I loved the array of shops, coffee shops, and Eggslut for breakfast!

What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?

My favorite thing to do was ride a bike along the boardwalk. Hang out to watch the sunset on Santa Monica pier. Also be sure to take the time to hike to see the Hollywood sign definitely a worth while hike.

What is the best tip for a friends' getaway in Los Angeles?

I would say plan transportation and renting a vehicle to get around. However, if you only have a weekend stay in Santa Monica and Los Angelas.

We love paradise cove beach cafe! It’s right on the beach and you can eat outside in the sand with shade and many beautiful flowers! The food was delicious! Definitely recommend stopping by for a meal if you’re in the Malibu area!

Favourite restaurant was Tallula’s because it had amazing drinks, customer service and the most authentic Mexican food we have ever had.

The Point at the Bluffs was a hidden gem recommended by our photographer and it had breathtaking views of the beach and ocean. Loved exploring the Venice canals and shopping along the boardwalk. Of course we had to go to see the Hollywood Sign and Universal Studios is a must!

Go see all the scenic areas and allow for lots of time to travel between areas! Uber around because all the drivers are so nice and will give you the best trips and places to visit (and areas to avoid!)

We loved grabbing ice cream at Salt & Straw! Their flavors are so unique and everything they make is truly delicious.

The Girl and the Goat in LA was phenomenal! We had eaten at their location in Chicago many years ago, and were pleased to see a location in Los Angeles. The ambiance, cocktails, and food menu were amazing. The service was also top-notch. Highly recommend checking out the Girl and the Goat!

Cycling along the boardwalk in Santa Monica was one of the many highlights in Los Angeles. The boardwalk stretched for miles, and it was beautiful to see the beach meet the ocean.

What is the best tip for celebrating your anniversary in Los Angeles?

Book a stay at the Fairmont Miramar! It's a wonderful place to celebrate an anniversary. Make sure to book an oceanview room. We had views of the Santa Monica Pier and it was beautiful both day and night. The cocktails in the lounge are stellar. The food options on the property (Fig, SOKO) were amazing. We also loved the styling of the Miramar. The customer service was wonderful, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back!

We love to find house rentals that are within walking distance of good food and shopping. It alleviates the stress of driving around LA and trying to find parking when you can just walk to dinner. And make reservations ahead of time because there are so many good eats around town!

Yuca's is a tiny taco shack in Los Feliz. It doesn't look like much but it is delicious. Some of the best tacos I have ever had and they serve a dang good burger too! It makes for a fantastic lunch spot.

Go into the mountains near Santa Monica. It absolutely gorgeous with views of mountains, the ocean, and the sprawling city of LA. When you're done you can enjoy your time in Santa Monica with great shopping and food.

Get a rental car and be patient with the traffic. There is so much to do and see. It might take a while to get there so just relax and be happy you're on vacation.
