What are the best things to do in London?

Taking double decker buses and sitting at the top. Snag the window spot if you can. Catch a play just for kids in Islington at the Little Angel Theatre.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to London?

Try to tackle only 1-2 activities/per day with an opportunity to get back to your hotel or AirBnB relatively easily for much needed rest/downtime. There's a lot of walking which is just part of the London experience! We traveled with a nearly 5 year old and nearly 2 year old. We came prepared with both a stroller and carrier which was used way more than even we expected with our older son asking to be pushed around most of the day! Utilize London's extensive bus network which can be much easier (i.e. less walking) to get around from point to point.

Sunday Roast at Crown & Anchor in Covent Garden. Unique little pub. My kids are picky eaters but they get to try this English tradition for the first time and loved the food!

What are the best things to do in London?

Leake Street Arches (graffiti tunnel). We brought cans of spray paint at a nearby hardware store and able to leave a little drawing on the walls with the kids and see artists doing massive and impressive spray painting live with hyped up music. It was a very inspiring experience for this trip as we have seen many historically important pieces of art in various museums, we also get to do something hands-on.

What are the best places to eat and drink in London?

I enjoy going to West End shows in London and one of my favorite restaurants in that area is on a quiet lane in the middle of the chaos - J Sheekey. It's been around for over 100 years so clearly they're doing something right. It's cozy, intimate, and upscale but not pretentious. The service is excellent and so if the food of course. I'd recommend any of their seafood/fish dishes, and their classic fish and chips are the best I've ever had (and I've been all around the UK!).

What are the best things to do in London?

My favorite museum is the Victoria & Albert (their cafe is stunning and was the first museum restaurant/cafe in the world!) and a more underrated, hidden gem museum that I love is the Sir John Soane Museum.

What are the best places to eat and drink in London?

We loved Dishoom and Barafinna the most. Dishoom felt very special because we don't really have anything like this in Los Angeles; the food was phenomenal and the vibes/decor were immaculate. We heard it can be busy for dinner so we made reservations for lunch. Barrafina was a surprise. We had it on our list for somewhere to pop-in. We loved the casual vibe and we felt the food was even better than some restaurants that we tried in Spain.

What are the best things to do in London?

We loved all the PUBS! it was amazing to us how packed all the pubs get after work hours. and we loved talking to Londoners; everyone is so chatty and nice! we even made some new friends who reside in London at a random pub we walked into.

Gaetan's Travel Tips for London

What are the best places to eat and drink in London?

It's not a restaurant ; I'd suggest Borough market, even if it's a bit crowded, there is too much think to discover and eat here !!

What are the best things to do in London?

There is too many thinks to do, each neighborhood is different... Walking along the Thames from Saint Paul's Cathedral to Tate Modern or discover the small kind of village vibes in zone 3, like Greenwich or Blackheath...

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to London?

Try to don't walk too much, it's a big city with many things to see... The tour Bus for 2 days it's a good option to visit the town and stay dry in case of rain ! The Tate modern is also a great place for kids, just to hang out or discover art, there is also great activities for them !

London, oh London! Our recent trip to this incredible city was filled with unforgettable experiences, and we have a handful of favorite things to do that made our journey truly exceptional. The Changing of the King's Guard: Witnessing the Changing of the King's Guard at Buckingham Palace was like stepping into a royal fairytale. The precision, pageantry, and tradition of this ceremony were mesmerizing. It's a must-see, and the perfect way to kickstart our London adventure. Flytographer Photoshoot: Our Flytographer photoshoot was a stroke of genius. Hector, our talented photographer, captured the essence of our trip with artistic brilliance. From the iconic landmarks to hidden gems, he made London our personal backdrop. These photos are now cherished memories that we'll forever treasure. Shopping at Harrods: Shopping at Harrods was an opulent and immersive experience. The sheer luxury, the tantalizing selection of goods, and the impeccable service made it a retail therapy like no other. It's a place where you can explore, splurge, and indulge. Concert at Roundhouse: The Roundhouse was the perfect setting for an electrifying concert experience. The intimate yet spacious venue had incredible acoustics. We had a night filled with pulsating music, a memorable performance, and a crowd buzzing with energy. It's a top-notch venue for live music. Camden Market: Camden Market is a vibrant kaleidoscope of creativity and culture. Exploring the eclectic mix of stalls, street food, vintage shops, and live music was a sensory delight. It's a microcosm of London's diversity, and you can spend hours soaking in the atmosphere. These five experiences, combined, created an incredibly diverse and enriching London adventure for us. The city's history, art, culture, and entertainment were all within reach, and we couldn't have asked for a more well-rounded and fulfilling journey. London, you stole our hearts!

Insider Tip: Using the hop-on hop-off sightseeing boats on the Thames River in London was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, it was a seamless and unforgettable adventure that offered a unique perspective of this incredible city. The convenience of being able to board and disembark at various iconic landmarks along the river was a game-changer. It allowed us to explore London at our own pace, ensuring we didn't miss a thing. The boats were frequent and arrived according to schedule. What truly stood out, though, were the breathtaking views. London's skyline, with its historic and modern architecture, was laid out before us, and the boat crew provided fascinating insights into the landmarks we passed. Whether it was the majestic Tower Bridge or the historic Westminster Palace, we were able to admire them all from the comfort of our seats. The crew on board was not only friendly and accommodating but also extremely knowledgeable. They provided interesting facts and anecdotes about the city, adding depth to the experience.
