“ My family and I just came back from a wonderful trip to Japan. This being our first trip to Japan, we knew we wanted to capture professional photos of our vacation. We’re so happy that we booked Coo for a session in Kyoto. The weather was unpredictable this season, so we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to take photos with cherry blossoms. But prior to us arriving to Kyoto, Coo found the best locations for cherry blossoms and traditional Japanese architecture for our session. He also sent a long list of restaurant recommendations and travel tips. The day of the shoot, Coo was so easy to work with. He asked us if there any specific photos we wanted to take, and he was great with my two young daughters. Best of all, we love all the photos he took. We are so glad we have these photos to remember our time Japan. Highly recommend Coo! ”

“ Coo did an absolutely phenomenal job with the photos. We travelled to Japan on vacations and wanted a set of portraits to commemorate the trip. He was very professional from the start, providing clear written instructions and Google Maps links on where to meet. He accommodated my request to try to find cherry blossoms despite being late in the season. Upon beginning the shoot, he gave good instructions and made us feel very comfortable. We moved quickly through many locations in the 90 minute shoot and were able to get many different styles of backgrounds. That all said, the pictures themselves were absolutely stunning. Coo’s ability to capture and play with light in the pictures is truly a gift. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a portrait photographer in Japan! ”

He suggested a handful of locations based on my idea of capturing the cherry blossoms in our shoot. “ Coo was wonderful. He was easy to schedule, flexible on location, picked a BEAUTIFUL location, guided us to the best timing, communication was great leading up to the shoot. The shoot itself was relaxed and enjoyable and we got so many great photos ! My teens were complaining when I scheduled the shoot and by the end they were fighting over who got more pictures with Coo because he made it so easy and enjoyable. And the photos themselves are beautiful. Not overly staged, simple and aesthetic and natural but also incredible photos that we could never have done ourselves. “ Masa was the perfect match for us. He was quick to respond to our questions and was very fast to get our photos back to us. He worked wonderfully with our three kids, you can tell that he would be good with our children from the second he met us. Masa also was wonderful to meet us at our tea house in Kyoto, walk us around and he even dropped us off back at the tea house so we wouldn’t have to find it on our own after our shoot. It was relaxing and fun walking the streets with him, we barely knew he was shooting when it came to the candid shots. He knew all the perfect, non-busy places to go during cherry blossom season. “ Coo was recommended to us by a friend who had used him when her family was in Kyoto and he was wonderful. He communicated clearly in advance of the shoot and we ultimately changed the time and date due to the weather forecast. He was flexible and accommodating in making that change. Coo knew the most beautiful spots to take pictures. We went to a few places, all within a ten minute walk from each other. He was professional, friendly and easy to understand. Our family of 4 was very happy to have decided to have the pictures taken. ”

“ Our photoshoot with Coo was a blast. We visited Japan for to celebrate our 10th year together/ 3 of marriage during the busy Sakura season. We were scheduled for 6:30 am and Coo was thoughtful to suggest an earlier meet up time to avoid the crowds in the Kyoto Gion area. It was definitely worth it, because even at 6 there was already people coming in to take some beautiful photos too. The photoshoot process was smooth, Coo guided us for the posing. I was very happy to re-create some of our wedding photos poses in the beautiful Philosophers Path. The delivery was pretty fast, we got samples and the final product within the week. Overall, we are super happy we did this and love our photos. It was a great memory to bring home with us after a wonderful trip. Now I just want to go back to Japan in every season and take more photos 🤭 ”
