“ Coo was so wonderful! Very professional and helpful. Made the day so easy and pleasant and took wonderful photos! Highly, highly recommend. ”
“ I booked a photoshoot in Kyoto with Coo during a recent trip to Japan with my girlfriend (now fiancée). From the very beginning, the experience was great! I originally requested to shoot at the Philosopher’s Path because my fiancée really wanted to see Japan’s fall colors. Coo suggested we shoot at Arashiyama Park instead because the foliage would be even better and that we'd be able to avoid the busier tourist areas. He was absolutely right! We were able to get truly amazing shots surrounded by the fall leaves. I also told him ahead of time that I planned to propose during the session, and he helped me plan out the moment perfectly. His communication was great before, during, and after the shoot. He quickly responded to all my questions and made the process stress-free. During the shoot, he gave clear and helpful tips on how to pose, which made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. He was super friendly and made the whole session feel natural rather than staged. We really couldn’t be happier with the experience or the photos. Coo played a big part in making our engagement shoot special, and we’re really grateful for it. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer in Japan! ”
“ Yoshi was very professional and helpful in giving me advice on the day of the proposal. I was very grateful for the effort he put into finding the right spot for me and making sure that the moment of the proposal would be executed well. ”
“ We had such a great experience with Coo in the Arashiyama area of Kyoto. From the beginning, he was really organized and made everything easy. He communicated with us on WhatsApp, shared the exact location, and helped make sure all the logistics were clear before the shoot. During the session, he had a calm and friendly energy that helped all of us relax. He connected so well with my 5-year-old and even taught him a few Japanese words. He also knew all the best spots in Arashiyama and guided us around so we could get amazing photos without feeling rushed. I also appreciated his local suggestions for restaurants and things to do. It felt like we were getting both a photographer and a local guide. The photos turned out beautiful and the whole experience was smooth and memorable. I highly recommend him. ”
“ We had a wonderful early-morning couple photoshoot around the Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto with Coo, and we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. He was incredibly professional, kind, and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. Even though it was a busy season with the autumn leaves (and it even started snowing, creating the most magical atmosphere !!), he never made us feel rushed. He guided us with helpful advice even before the session, and his communication was very proactive and thorough. During the session, he offered beautiful ideas, which made the experience both magic and memorable. We truly appreciated his eye for beautiful spots and his ability to capture the soft morning light mixed with the vibrant fall colours. His technique is very impressive. The photos turned out stunning, and the whole experience felt relaxed, natural, and very personal. We absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and thoughtful photographer in Kyoto. ”
“ What a fun experience for my family! Coo did a fantastic job making us all feel comfortable (some of us are camera shy) and finding beautiful backdrops in Kyoto. A family photo shoot is the perfect souvenir for a bucket list trip. ”
“ Yoshi was absolutely incredible. He captured our proposal beautifully—better than we ever could have hoped for. He was completely discreet during the surprise and captured the perfect angles during the actual proposal. Once we transitioned into the shoot, he was so kind, warm, and easy to talk to, which helped us relax and enjoy the moment. The photos turned out great and perfectly reflect how special the day felt. We’re so grateful to Yoshi and couldn’t recommend him more highly. ”
“ We had such a great afternoon in Kyoto with Coo. I wanted to propose in the national garden but I hadn't been there in years and Coo helped out with some geographical suggestions in advance, and then once the proposal was complete he basically led us on a tour of all the great photo spots in the garden and took amazing photos of us at each. I had a done a walkthrough in advance but the garden is big and I would have missed a lot of the best spots without Coo's help. He listened to any requests that we had and made sure we got the photos we wanted, I didn't choose the longest package available but we never felt rushed at all, and he even took some photos on our phones so we had shots to show to friends and family immediately. We got the edited photos a few days later and they are of course magnificent, so happy with them. Strongest possible recommend! ”
“ We had such a wonderful experience with Choo during our family vacation to Japan. Its rare to come home with a good family photo from vacation, fighting crowds and relying on a stranger to snap a good pic. But we got an entire collection of beautiful photos in amazing locations! The session was relaxed and easy as we wandered around beautiful parks, streets and shrines. Choo has a great eye and we were blown away by the photos when we received them. Which came quickly too, in time for holiday cards! If you're visiting Japan, I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary! ”
“ Yoshi, was not only an amazing photographer but amazing person as well! From the moment we interacted, he was responsive and helpful the entire time through. If I could could do this all over again, I would choose Yoshi again. ”
“ This was my extended family’s first photo session in Kyoto together, and we had no idea what to expect. Coo Coo-san was an absolute delight during the whole process. He took us to some iconic photo spots and made my entire family feel very comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend opting for the 1-1/2 hour session if you want to take photos at a few more sites. All the areas we went to gave such different feels to our photos, and with Coo Coo-san’s friendly directions and calm demeanor, we were all able to loosen up and have more fun. When we received our photos, we were really blown away by how natural and at ease our family members came out in every photo. I am so grateful for Coo Coo-san’s great energy and professionalism, while rallying eight adults, including 4 elderly family members, around some crowded parts of Kyoto. ”
“ Coo was the BEST choice of photographer for our visit to Kyoto. He was incredibly helpful even before we booked with him, by answering questions we had about his recommendations for the ideal location and timing for our family. His instructions for meeting up were incredibly clear, and especially reassuring for going to a site we hadn't visited before. Our hour together felt fun and not at all rushed, and we were able to take photos at several beautiful spots. Coo had a wonderful manner with our toddler and was able to capture so many shots of her that we'll treasure forever. His eye and style are excellent, and we were really thrilled with the results. In addition to his artistry, Coo is just a lovely person; he recommended some local spots in Kyoto that ended up being some of our most memorable experiences of the trip. We also appreciate that he turned around our photos so quickly. I couldn't recommend Coo more! ”
“ Coo delivered beyond our expectations !!!! We are very pleased and love each picture that he took. Coo was patient, kind, and very keen with our requests. Our moment in Kyoto was captured beautifully by Coo. His communication from the very beginning was thorough. Thank you so much, Coo !! These are the best family pictures we have received to date. Please let us know when you come to America for future family shoots 😊 America and ”
“ Yoshi was fantastic in helping me to organize location and time for my suprise proposal to my partner. His communication on the day was fantastic and timing for the moment was excellent. Even after he was so friendly and did everything I wanted and needed him to do. Highly recommend him for anyone searching for the best photographer around. Well done Yoshi, my new fiancé is over the moon with her photos! ”
“ This was our 2nd time working with Coo and Yurika in Kyoto and it was a pleasure as always! Coo was very professional and very helpful in planning our shoot location. It was wonderful that he was able to come to our hotel to take the photos since it was most convenient with our 2 young kids. He was wonderful with our kids! They really loved him and he was so patient with them. The photos are beautiful and we will cherish these memories of our family trip in Kyoto forever! We cannot recommend them enough! Thank you, Coo! ”
“ We had the privilege to meet and work with Masa for our engagement shoot in Kyoto. When planning a photo shoot that will occur while traveling, it can be hard to communicate directions and times, especially once you've already left home and are actively on the go. Masa was incredibly responsive, patient, and willing to work with me. Our original time was 10:30, but Masa was happy to accommodate when I asked to meet earlier to beat the crowds. I'd never been to Kyoto before, so I wasn't sure where would be the most beautiful place to pop the question, and Masa suggested a small temple along the Philosopher's path. The other option that the flytographer company suggested was the Fushimi Inari shrine, which we had visited the day before the shoot. I'm so glad we went with Masa's suggestion, because the Fushimi Inari shrine was very crowded with tourists. Masa was receptive to our desire to keep things low-key, avoid crowds, and capture the beauty of Kyoto in the Fall. He captured every moment of the proposal beautifully, and made the experience unforgettable even without the stunning photos. The proposal was only for 35 photos, but we ended up with double the shots! I'm so happy to have captured these moments forever with Masa's help. Scott and I are both studying Japanese casually, and as we walked along the Philosopher's path for the different locations he'd chosen to shoot us at, we got to chat with him in both Japanese and English. We both felt like we had made a close friend by the end of the shoot. He also was very familiar with Kyoto, learned we were coffee lovers, and suggested a coffee shop (Kurasu) that was right by our hotel which we ended up going to every morning after we met. Masa and Asami, if you ever want to visit Chicago, you have a place to stay with us! ”
“ Coo was so amazing to work with and we are blown away by how beautiful our photos turned out! He went above and beyond to make sure we had all the shots we wanted and even gave us a list of his local recommendations to check out. Out of the many souvenirs we got from Japan, these photos are my favorite and worth every penny. ”
“ Coo was a fantastic photographer to work with. Prior to the shoot, he shared options of locations that made it easy to pick somewhere that was right for what I had envisioned. He was responsive and communicative and provided a clear, easy-to-follow plan for the day of. His friendliness and professionalism put us at ease during the photoshoot and made our engagement day extra special and stress-free. He walked us through different poses, angles, and spots around our chosen location. The photos themselves were also perfect and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. ”
“ I chose Coo for our family photoshoot because I really liked the natural and warm style of his photos. From the start, he was friendly, polite, and patient, which made us feel completely at ease. We even got to learn a little about the history of Yasaka Pagoda during the shoot! Coo helped take some lovely videos on my phone and handled my cheeky nine-year-old so well. At the end, he even recommended a few nice cafés nearby. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful — they perfectly capture the warmth and joy of our time in Kyoto. Thank you, Coo, for giving us such wonderful memories to look back on! ”
“ Coo was wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He made us feel very comfortable and was able to capture very beautiful photos. ”
“ Proposing was easily the most nervewracking moment of my life but thankfully Coo made everything surrounding the proposal so simple, easy, and effective. From helping plan a route for the perfect proposal spot to helping capture the perfect pictures (as you can see here), he made the experience all the more enjoyable. It wasn’t just the fact that he captured excellent pictures - it was his helpful directions. He gave us specific instructions on how to pose, but he also let us just soak in the moment and enjoy our time together as new fiancés. He sat back and worked his magic while we enjoyed what just happened. He also was quick with his thinking - when it started raining, he found us the perfect spot under a tree to take some of our favorite pictures, and he graciously gave us an umbrella so we didn’t “catch a cold”. If you want a considerate, kind, and skilled photographer, look no further than Coo and Yurika! ”
“ I take family photos every year and Coo is one of the best photographers I've had a session with. First, Coo is so communicative so we had no issues finding him in the middle of the crowded Banboo forest. He was able to get amazing photos of our family! I would highly recommend. ”
