Trattoria Zaza for dinner was excellent! La Strega Nocciola for gelato (the BEST we had in Italy)! Loggia Roof top bar for drinks/food at sunset All'Antico Vinaio for amazing paninis

Brunelleschi’s Dome had an awesome view (it was raining the day we went but still amazing) Leonardi DaVinci hands on museum was fun for kids. The Boboli Garden were beautiful, and we wish we had more time to spend there.

What are the best places to eat and drink in Florence?

Vivaldi! This cafe had easily the BEST gelato we experienced. The back is cozy and comfortable to lounge in. We thoroughly enjoyed the adffogato with crema gelato. There's also a full bar and the staff is so kind to provide recommendations or pairings.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

Aside from our family photoshoot, which was such a highlight to our Florence experience, we really enjoyed our pasta making class! This was group class where we learned how to make fettuccine, ravioli, and tortellini. It was not only fun but incredibly delicious and we enjoyed this experience as a family!

Osteria Santo Spirito -- amazing food, fun location in Oltrano, lots of locals eating there too :) The Babae wine window was also a fun/unique experience.

The Gucci Garden Cafe & Museum, Rinascente Rooftop terrace (for views + apertivo), Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy (Florence's oldest pharmacy with a fun, interactive perfume experience), Scuola del Cuoio for leather shopping.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Florence?

Yes! Our kids loved the Leonardi DaVinci Hands on Museum, running around the Boboli Gardens (while making "rock soup"), and going on our very own Gelato Tour of Florence. Also you can't ride that carousel too many times!

What are the best places to eat and drink in Florence?

Osteria Pastella had amazing pasta served in a cheese wheel with fresh truffles. It was a bit fancy and very busy, so make sure to make a reservation in advance! We also had the best bistecca fiorentina (Florentine stead) at Pandemonio! It was DELICIOUS and a highlight for both my husband and I. It was tucked away and not very crowded when we arrived at 7:30/8pm.

Trattoria 4 Leoni - the pear ravioli was one of the best meals we had in all of Italy. Also, Cafe Lunetta has amazing coffee, breakfast and pastries.

Trattoria Sostanza, Trattoria Cammillo, and Buca Lapi because of the local feel and ambiance. The food and service were great.

In general, we loved everything Florence has to offer specially the residential neighborhoods of Oltrarno and Santo Spirito and the hustle and bustle of the markets. Landmark wised, my personal favorites are Piazza Michelangelo/Miniato and David at the Accademia. Also the Santa Maria Novella Perfumery.

What is your best travel tip for Florence?

1. Try to learn and speak basic Italian to immerse with the locals and in my opinion, you will get better service. 2. Comfortable walking shows. 3. Stop taking too many photos and just enjoy each and every moment.

What are the best places to eat and drink in Florence?

Favorite restaurant was: Il Grande Nuti Trattoria. I ordered, mezzelune ripiene Di patate e porcini con burro e tartufo: half moon pasta stuffed with potatoes and porcini mushrooms with butter and truffle. A bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. It was so flavorful and paired very well with the wine.

Make sure you pack one pair of walking shoes and wear them the whole trip. You won’t wear sandals or heels because it’s too much walking and you want to be comfortable. Pack light.

We loved climbing the Duomo, a sunset Arno River cruise with violinist, seeing the Statue of David, the Uffizi Gallery. It was all so amazing

Keep them fed! We did so much walking and our 8 year old was a trooper, but realized that when she would start getting restless, she needed an Italian pastry or Gelato! :)
