What are the best places to eat and drink in Florence?

Hands down, La Buchetta. My husband had "the best steak of [his] life," and the mozzarella tasting was definitely something I'll never forget. Really delicious food, and incredible service!

What are the best things to do in Florence?

We absolutely loved hiking to Piazzale Michelangelo. The view of Florence from the top was incredible, and it's the view of Florence everyone sees and wants to see. I also loved hiking down through the Giardino delle Rose (Rose Garden), which was full of over 100 varieties of stunning roses, still overlooking the city, and the cute neighborhood at the bottom of the hill across the Arno.

What is the best tip for celebrating your anniversary in Florence?

What are the best places to eat and drink in Florence?

Our favorite restaurant was Ristorante del Fagioli in Florence. It’s cash only, but the service and flavor is out of this world. The affogato is worth it from Vivoli! And if you’re there grab some gelato as well. For a typical espresso, we enjoyed Gilli’s. We had a nicer cocktail on the rooftop of Hotel degli Orafi, which was a great way to escape the crowd and see the city from a higher point.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

Other than our photo shoot with Ellie, we loved making our way through the rose garden to the look out spot at the Michael Angelo plaza in order to see the city from a different perspective. We also did a cooking class with Giglio Cooking and our experience was incredibly memorable and the outcome was even better. The food anywhere is to die for, you really can’t go wrong!

What is the best tip for celebrating your anniversary in Florence?

Tell your hotel and restaurants you’re celebrating an occasion, we were created with champagne and what felt like special treatment for every meal and experience!

What are the best things to do in Florence?

We booked an evening walking tour with Florence Tours with Kids by Rachele, and our guide Ilaria was wonderful. She knew the perfect stories to share with an eight-year-old, and took us on a lovely Saturday evening loop around the main sites. We also stumbled upon a paper marbling workshop at Riccardo Luci Firenze which was incredible to watch, and the museum at the Officina Profumo Santa Maria Novella was another accidental find that we adored!

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Florence?

Florence is such a wonderful city to visit with children. Everyone was warm and welcoming and seemed intent on making sure my daughter had the time of her life. We were only there for a quick girls' weekend, and because Florence is so easy and walkable, it's the perfect city if you're short on time. Having said that, neither one of us was ready to leave, and we're already dreaming of our next visit! My only tip is to bring comfy walking shoes and a sketchbook—my daughter loved sitting in the piazzas and doodling the city around her.

Osteria Pastella had amazing pasta served in a cheese wheel with fresh truffles. It was a bit fancy and very busy, so make sure to make a reservation in advance! We also had the best bistecca fiorentina (Florentine stead) at Pandemonio! It was DELICIOUS and a highlight for both my husband and I. It was tucked away and not very crowded when we arrived at 7:30/8pm.
