What are the best places to eat and drink in Curacao?

We really loved Soi95. I booked reservations there with the recommendation of our Flytographer photographer Claudia for my husband’s birthday. The ambiance of the rooftop terrace was perfect! Also, we really loved the food. My husband is Indonesian and the Asian fusion dishes included several Indonesian dishes that reminded him of his home cuisine. The service was great and the food was really tasty.

What are the best things to do in Curacao?

We spent seven days in Curaçao and were able to visit many different beaches, landmarks and sights. One of our favorite tours was our boat excursion to Klein Curaçao aboard the Miss Ann. We had a lot of fun exploring the lighthouse and shipwreck there and snorkeling. The crew made it an amazing day with their awesome service and fun personalities. We were really surprised how good the breakfast and lunch was as well that were included. We also loved going to Tugboat Beach. We rented a car so we were able to drive there without booking a tour. We found the staff there to be really friendly and welcoming. We brought our own snorkel masks but ended up renting fins and life vests there to snorkel to the sunken tugboat, which was such an incredible experience. We also participated in the “create your own artwork” and the artist there helped us to paint some driftwood that we get to proudly display in our home. Other amazing places we visited on our trip were: 1. Kokomo Beach - We really loved this place. It’s a great swim beach and we felt more secure with the security guard at the front watching over the cars in the parking lot. The platform is fun to swim to and snorkel below to see the sea-life there. 2. Playa Piskado/Playa Grandi - this is a really picturesque beach where you can swim and snorkel with sea turtles. 3. Grote Knip - this is another great swim beach that is free with a viewpoint that gives you panoramic views of the amazing water and beach. It’s also popular for cliff diving and has beach pigs that roam the beach. 4. Shete Boka National Park - this was a cool place to visit and gave us a break from the beaches. There were trails to hike to the various viewpoints where you can find a cave and amazing coastal views. It’s also a protected area for nesting sea turtles. 5. Pietermaai District in Willemstad - we loved the vibrant and colorful buildings here, which was where we chose for our photo session with Flytographer as it offered something different than the typical beach/outdoor locations we have chosen before. The colors are fun yet there’s a charm with some of the historical and old/rundown buildings. The European architecture and cobblestone streets made for a picturesque backdrop.

What is the best tip for travelling with kids to Curacao?

We have two kids, a 14 year old and a 9 year old, so finding activities for the whole family to enjoy on vacation was important. Traveling lighter makes the trip much easier as well. Also, since we stayed at a nicer hotel (Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort), we felt safe and secure to give the kids a bit of independence there.
