There are so many areas and restaurants we loved. Calden del Soho was incredible. We had amazing service and everything we had there was delicious. If you are trying for a place like Don Julio or La Cabrera and can’t get in or don’t want to wait forever. Go here!
We took an Argentine cooking class with Francisco at @PachaMamaExperience (Instagram). It’s a 3-4 hour class with food & wine parings. Francisco was amazing and shared so much with us about Argentine food culture & history while teaching us how to make traditional Argentine foods. If you are a foodie, you shouldn’t miss this experience. If you have any time at all, take a day trip to Iguazú Falls and do the boat experience. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. You won’t be disappointed.
We LOVED our stay at the Mine Hotel Boutique in the trendy Palermo SoHo area. Their service and attention to detail is impeccable.

I loved the cafe in El Ateneo just because the library is set in an old theater and it’s just something beautiful to look at!
I loved walking around Pasaje de la Defensa. Such a cute, rustic space! Also, La Recoleta Cemetary was stunning! Beautiful and eerily creepy at the same time!
Walking the streets almost makes you feel like you are in Paris. But Paris with an Argentinian feel. Beautiful architecture!

El Preferido de Palermo, Apunena, Canti Bar, Maure Parilla, and Olivino Empanadas were all so yummy!!!
The playground at Plaza Inmigrantes de Armenia was beautiful and big!
Use a mix of walking, metro, and taxi/car share to really get a feel of this huge city!

Puerto Madero was so much fun to wander after the work day gets out in Buenos Aires. Definitely take a tango class - we went to La Ventura. Adopt the Argentinian way of eating dinner late!

Stay in Alfama area. Staying in the heart of the old city is the best place to be. It is lively. It is close to everything and you will love all the nightlife and coffee shops around you.

Buenos Aires and Argentina are incredibly kid-friendly! We always felt like he was included and respected. The only thing that's a bit tricky, is that Argentines eat dinner LATE, as in most restaurants don't OPEN before 9 pm! But if you're OK with lighter fare, cafes are usually open until 9 or 10 pm and serve sandwiches, salads and usually a few warm dishes, not to mention pastries.

Head to Palermo for the hippest spots in the city: food and bars. We also loved iLatina and Chila for their amazing tasting menus. There is a lot to learn about the historical aspects of the city and country, so we really recommend doing a walking tour!

Definitely go to Nuestro Secreto! It's a hidden restaurant on the roof of the Four Seasons, is extremely reasonably priced, and the food and service both are amazing. Also go to the local bookstores and just wander! One last tip would be to make sure you hit up the markets on the weekends; we did, but didn't realize it would be our only shot.

This is truly the "Paris of South America" - the architecture is gorgeous, the food is unbelievable, and the people are incredibly kind. Unlike Paris, and most of Europe, English is not as frequently or well spoken in some areas. Be prepared to know at least general phrases in Spanish or have someone in your party who does know the language well. Also, the country can be very affordable...if you stay in the right areas. Recoleta is a gorgeous, sophisticated area to stay in, but I would recommend venturing outside of it for meals and shopping for better prices for travelers on a budget.
