What is your best travel tip for Budapest?

No cash is needed: Budapest is a very cashless city, and you can pay for almost everything with a credit card or debit card. However, it's still a good idea to carry some cash with you, especially for small purchases or at markets. ATMs are widely available throughout the city, but be sure to check with your bank to see if there are any international transaction fees. Plan your trip ahead of time: Budapest is a popular tourist destination, so it's a good idea to plan your trip ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Book your accommodation, tours, and activities in advance to ensure that you get the best deals and availability. Use public transportation: Budapest has an excellent public transportation system, which includes buses, trams, and metro lines. It's affordable, efficient, and a great way to get around the city. You can purchase tickets at stations or from ticket machines, or consider getting a multi-day pass for unlimited rides. Try the local cuisine: Hungarian cuisine is rich, flavorful, and hearty. Be sure to try some of the local dishes, such as goulash, langos, chimney cake, and dobos torte. The Great Market Hall is a great place to sample a variety of local foods and products. Pack accordingly: Depending on the time of year you visit, Budapest can be quite hot or cold. Be sure to pack accordingly, and bring comfortable shoes for walking around the city. It's also a good idea to bring a reusable water bottle, as tap water is safe to drink in Budapest. Visit the thermal baths: Budapest is known for its thermal baths, which are a great way to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. Be sure to bring a swimsuit and a towel, and consider booking a massage or other treatments to fully indulge in the experience. Be aware of pickpockets: As with any tourist destination, pickpocketing can be a problem in Budapest. Be sure to keep your belongings close to you, and be aware of your surroundings in crowded areas. Learn some basic Hungarian phrases: While many Hungarians speak English, it's always appreciated when tourists make an effort to learn some basic Hungarian phrases, such as "hello" (szia), "thank you" (köszönöm), and "please" (kérem). It can also make interactions with locals more enjoyable and memorable.

In my research I found out that you can go cave exploring in the hills where the natural springs stem from! It was so thrilling to squeeze under and between ancient rocks once full of the healing waters that the city embraces in their bath houses. Three hours of spelunking and then a long soak in the thermal baths - it was another perfect day in Budapest!
