The museum scene is impressive in Amsterdam. We especially loved MOCO and Anne Frank House. Second to exploring the museums, was simply walking the charming streets. Amsterdam’s neighborhoods are gorgeous.

My favorite spot was the Irish Pub around the corner from the hotel because it has sentimentlal meaning to me. This is my favorite part of the city!
I am there often so perhaps this trip, the Tree lighting in Dam Square, brining my clients to Ann Frank for the first time and personally, I loved the Van Gogh museum!
Relax and take it all in. Tram ticket is the best way to get around the city. Take a walk in the neighborhoods, you will get plenty of culture that way! Also, the canal boat tours are very good! Visit the local super markets, taste the wine and grab some cheese. A park bench in any season is a great way to see the real Amsterdam.
We loved Blaauwhooft! Cozy little neighborhood pub with amazing food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend the fondue there.
We went to the Amsterdam Dungeon and had the best time! We laughed so hard and were a little scared too! Plus, free beer at the end!
I did not travel with kids.

Biking around Oosterpark, Vondelpark. We took a food tour through Airbnb which was fantastic. We also visited Keukenhof Gardens as it was tulip season. SO INCREDIBLE!

The Avocado Show cafe is a must-visit. You can guess which ingredient is the star :) and the avocados show up in all the dishes in the most creative and delicious ways. Plus the cafe itself has a beautiful design, and there is canal-side outdoor seating for warm days. But book ahead - weekends are supposed to be packed, and it was even busy when we were there on a Monday morning at 10!
Strolling the canals, browsing the vintage shops, hopping on a canal tour…just soaking up the atmosphere! If you are looking for a salon to get a blow dry or cut before your shoot, I’d highly recommend Singel Hair. Adem (the owner) is wonderful, he speaks great English, and from his chair you look out on all the boats and bikes passing by!
Don’t pack your itinerary too full of official sightseeing…leave lots of time for spontaneous stops, for aimless canal-wandering, and for soaking up the amazing laid-back Amsterdam vibes.

Always try a canal tour! Aim towards the evening/sunset so that you can see the streetlights and the canal lights flicker on.
If you can, try spending a night in a houseboat!

Panache Cafe | Great food & vibes. The Pantry | A little tradition spot with the most friendliest waiters. Drinks Hoxton Hotel | Beautiful decor, warm fire place & amazing drinks. Cafe Heuvel | Small little local on the corner. Sky Lounge | Beautiful view & amazing cocktails.
Must see & do Visit the Jordaan Canals Evening Canal Cruise Rent Bicycles Visit the Albert Cuypmarkt Eat, Eat & Eat
Walk, get lost along the beautiful canals, explore the little cafes and eat as many as you can delicious stroopwafels.
If you are in Amsterdam and want the BEST fries, go to Heertje Friets. You will not be disappointed!

You must go to Winkel 43 for the Apple pie! And stop in Cafe ‘t Papeneiland for a drink which is one of the best brown bars in the city!
I really love that when ever we had a problem with the trains or trying to figure out where to go the locals were more than happy to help us out and set us on our way. Love Amsterdam

Rent a bike and go exploring!
Two nights is not enough! Spend some time in the city, rent bikes, make sure you take time to visit Anne Frank’s house- truly moving.
Highly recommend NEMO Museum if you’re traveling with kids. We loved Greenwood’s for brunch since it’s a sweet spot along the canal in the Jordaan and we adored Wilde Zwijnen for dinner in the East side of the city.

As visitors to Amsterdam, we found it easier to walk everywhere vs. biking - the locals are really experienced cyclists and have no time for tourists trying to figure out where to go on a bike. Walking was very enjoyable!
Our favourite meal in Amsterdam was at Bulls & Dogs - great, creative hot dogs and amazing, not-to-be-missed milkshakes!
Get out and get lost in the city! It’s truly a large circle when you look at a map, so you’re “technically” never lost! EXPLORE! Sleep when you return from your trip!
Loved the Van Gogh museum but remember to book it! Then enjoy a picnic on the lawn outside and people watch
A bike Tour is a must do in Amsterdam. The kids had an absolute ball with this activity and our 1 year old even fell asleep on the bike. Anyone travelling with young kids knows how tough it can be so a few minutes peace and quiet to enjoy the sights up close was AMAZING
We stayed at the Pulitzer Hotel, and our concierge arranged for us to take a private boat ride through the canals one evening. Seeing Amsterdam from the water is definitely a must!
