Hi, I'm Miho! I'm a documentary-style photographer. After earning my Master's in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York, I spent 12 years photographing families, couples, weddings, and portraits throughout New York City before returning to Japan. My background in journalism and documentary photography has shaped the way I see the world. Rather than focusing on stiff poses, I love capturing genuine moments, natural connections, and the little details that tell your story. My goal is to create timeless images that bring you back to how those moments truly felt. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me exploring new places or spending time with my energetic

Miho was absolutely amazing! She was very flexible with our family to accommodate our vision and ensure we were met at the right time and place. From the moment we met, she felt like someone we had known forever! Miho was incredibly patient with our hot and tired toddler, and through our time, didn't even feel like we were part of a photoshoot, just a stroll through the park. The pictures that came out were exactly as I had hoped; can't even tell we were photographing between toddler tantrums! Would highly recommend working with Miho and should we return to Japan, we would love to work with her again!

This was our second time working with Miho, and we cannot imagine visiting Japan without her. She has an extraordinary gift for choosing places that become part of the story, and she has a remarkable ability to capture the moments that matter most. These photographs are far more than beautiful images. They hold a chapter of our family’s life that can never be lived again. Years from now, when my son has children of his own, these will be the photographs we pull from the shelf and pass from one generation to the next. They will remind us not only of Japan, but of who we were together in that season of life. For that, we will always be grateful to Miho. She took our photographs but she also preserved a piece of our family’s history.

Miho was an amazing asset to making our first family photo overseas a success! We flew into Tokyo the day before and was very jet lagged, and she was so excited and professional and warm to our family upon meeting for the first time. Our little man was very tired and grumpy and did not want a lot of posed pictures but she was so great and flexible with his attitude and found a way to capture great photos in a sea of crowds and little kids who don't cooperate and made it such a great hour that flew by! I am absolutely in love with these family pictures she was able to capture for us on our anniversary and family trip and also all the information she shared as we did a little sight seeing, some memory making and making a new friendly connection all in an afternoon! The pictures, attention to detail, quick turn around time and hard work she puts forth in ensuring she was prompt and on time and responsive to any inquiries makes her a valued professional we would seek to connect with again for our family to work with again and again! All our appreciation for capturing these priceless pictures! :)

We absolutely loved our photo session with Miho! Our whole family was in Tokyo for a special trip to meet our new niece and Miho was so wonderful. We ranged in age from 8 weeks to 78 and she was so patient with all of us. And the pictures are gorgeous. They’ll be a special reminder of our family’s time together in Japan!
