Travel Story

I have wanted to take my boys to Legoland and San Diego for the last couple of years. Both of my boys are avid Lego fans, and we always love a good adventure. We only had a couple days in San Diego, and while we wanted to do all the things, getting some beach time in was a must. Seeing a sunset or two on the beach was the icing on the cake. We had equal fun digging in the sand, running in the water, and loads of brick and ride(s) time at Legoland. Since this is our first US adventure together, I wanted some family photos without the stress of tripods and self-timers, and to actually BE in the photos, especially on the beach!! I'm so glad I booked a photo session through Flytographer with Martina - she is so sweet and down-to-earth and these photos will be treasured for years to come. Thanks Martina! <3

Travel Tips

We received recommendations a-plenty for San Diego and surrounding areas for food and activities. For activities, there was so much we wanted to do in the area, but given that most of our time was spent at Legoland, we chose to spend our time in La Jolla (tide pools, children's pool, etc.). It is so beautiful there, and we loved how different San Diego looked from home (the architecture, palm trees, etc.). Birch Aquarium is also a must - who doesn't love seeing jellyfishes, seahorses and sea dragons!? For eats, we really enjoyed Rubio's Coastal Grill, Blaze Pizza (both affordable and tasty eats), and we even headed into Encinitas to try The Crack Shack (delicious biscuits, cocktails, handcrafted soda, and fried chicken) and topped that dinner off with some of Handel's handmade ice cream! Our last stop we made before we headed home was to enjoy some tacos at Woody's Burgers - an outdoor eatery right off the ocean - so great for people watching, catching some rays, and watching the surfers. We also thoroughly enjoyed the amazing breakfast buffet that Legoland offers - so many tasty options!! San Diego/Carlsbad is a wonderful, beautiful place - a definite must to re-visit!
