The Perfect Ending to the Perfect Adventure

We spent 3.5 weeks traveling all over Europe- just our family of three. We each had a backpack and used trains to get from country to country & city to city. We landed in Amsterdam as our last stop before heading back to the US. It's a city I had visited only briefly about 20 years ago, and I had always vowed to come back here one day with the family I would have. We are a cycling family, so we rented bikes and spent one day riding out to the countryside to see windmills and wooden shoes and cheese and all of the quintessential "Netherlands" images. During our stay we rented a houseboat and spent a good deal of time simply relaxing on its porches, watching boaters drift up and down the canal. The beautiful canals with their bicycle lined streets gave us the perfect backdrop for the end of our amazing adventure together.
