For a relaxing getaway from the busy touristy resort areas, head to Akumal, near Tulum. There you'll find a more authentic Mexican vibe as well as a long beach of soft white sand, lots of palm trees, and clear warm waters with rich marine life, including some beautiful turtles. Please note that there is no beach access after 5pm if you are not a guest of a resort in this area. This route is best for sunrise shoots.
