Melanie is available to shoot throughout Bermuda, with minimum 90-minute bookings required for locations west of Paget Parish.
I'm a destination wedding and lifestyle photographer residing in Bermuda, although I'm originally from Washington D.C. I offer a fun and professional approach to photography for my clients. I shoot in both the photojournalistic & traditional styles and one of my favourite sub-genres of photography to shoot is vacation portraiture! Who doesn't love having their photo taken when they're relaxed and in paradise? My work has been published and written about in National Geographic, Wedding Wire, Bermudian Weddings Magazine, Bermuda Weddings and Honeymoons, United With Love, The Royal Gazette, The Portland Phoenix, Island Atelier, Jet Fete, A Touch of Modern, and The Photo Review.
- I enjoy heading out to sea with my husband and father-in-law, who work together as deep sea fishermen. Fishing only with a hook and line, we catch mainly wahoo, tuna, and mahi mahi. We've seen whales, pods of dolphins, sharks, and on a rare occasion, giant oceanic manta rays will swim right up to the boat!
- When I'm not shooting and editing work for my clients, I'm sharing my knowledge of photography with my students at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division, where I work as a professor.
- In 2012, I hosted and curated a film festival at The Dunes in Washington DC: The Fiander Film Festival. It featured a number of award-winning filmmakers who had submitted their work from 14 cities in 4 countries and was a sold-out event!
