Meet Steve in Montreal

I’m a laid-back, music-loving Brit living in Montreal with my wife, Evelyne and our three boys! Evelyne and I met in the Alps in 2003 when she thought she was a cool snowboarder, and I thought I was a superstar DJ. We got married in Cornwall, England and moved to Canada in 2014. I’m still travelling a lot and have photographed in Thailand, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, Croatia, Spain, the US and Iceland. I specialize in authentic and creative photography that captures and embraces real life and real moments. I was voted "Best UK Wedding Photographer" when I lived there and my photos have been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Junebug Weddings, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Professional Photographer, and many more. I have been an accredited photographer for the likes of Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Oasis, Metallica and errr… Justin Bieber!

Favourite Place to Shoot: Old Montreal is always fun but I also love urban locations around St-Laurent Blvd and The Plateau. Great variety of locations and architecture, street art, etc.

Three Things

  1. Before being a photographer I travelled the world as a DJ. I opened for Oasis at Wembley Stadium, headlined Exit Festival in Serbia and warmed up for the guy who invented hip-hop (that one impressed my kids).
  2. Music is a big part of my life and I spend a lot of my time listening to music and going to concerts, often with my camera. I also love scuba diving, the movies of Emmanuel Lubezk and Wes Anderson, direct flights, bourbon, sushi, countryside pubs, funky hotels, dark chocolate and heading out on adventures with my little family!
  3. I once won the bass guitar of the guy from Mötley Crüe. Despite my best efforts, I still can't play an instrument, even if it only has 4 strings!
